Thanks guys, I'll give the carby a going over Friday.
Will keep you posted.

Ignition (?) problems? Help please?
Hello people, I've been silent for a while because not much has been happening but now I have a problem and who better to ask.... From a cold start this happens every time. It's like bloody clockwork. At exactly the same temp on the gauge every time it cuts out. The temp is just below the normal mar...

Legality of changing seats
Hi all,
I know 75wagon has posted a "how to" for fitting Recaros to his Galant but I have another question.
Is any seat pretty much ok so long as you use the factory seat and seatbelt anchor points?
Thanks,
Cam

Yes it does. You just need to check that you're replacing Jap for Jap, or Australian (Smiths) for Australian. If not you may need to change fuel sender and temperature sender.

Re: Resurrecting 79 Chrysler Sigma
On mine the vacuum hose that is poking up between your fuel pump and the carb is the one that is attached to my (non-functioning) Thermal Vacuum Valve. That's the thing that opens or closes the flap in the end of the air filter/intake, yes? Anyway, mine's always open. Mine has a few non-functioning ...

How'd you go with this seller? Have a friend who had issues with size and outlet positions, only to find that they're a Chinese company with a Melbourne shipping address.

Re: Towing with a sigma
I did just that with mine a few years ago. Had a GH Siggie on a tandem car trailer (unbraked) and mine's a 2litre 5 speed as well. Towed it from Gippsland to Eltham. Was ok.... Not too slick off the line of course  but maintained a steady 95km/h in 4th. Able to push for 5th only on the downhi...

Old clutch plate 200mm OD - Can't just change plate so new clutch it is. Turning up tomorrow, along with a full set of welch plugs coz whilst it's up on the hoist at school I spotted a couple "bleeding". :\ "New" gearbox is beautiful!! I remember thinking $49 for the little plast...

Re: KM-132 rebuild help please!
This is the clutch plate I'm looking for I think. (OD 215mm - 23T - Spline 26.25mm)
I'll double check measurements tomorrow. Hoping I can just put a new clutch plate in as the clutch is only a few years old.
The Borg Warner version is 10mm bigger diameter but same spline size and teeth.

Output shaft same. Measured both with calipers and they matched (can't remember the exact figure but was same) and I've tested the tailshaft marries up to it too. So.... new clutch the best option? KM-132 rebuild help please!
Bought Jap 5 speed from wrecker. Was out of a GJ Sigma but my old extension housing went on fine. My problem is the input shaft... It's thicker! Only noticed this when trying to mate gearbox with clutch. Bugger, I know! Now, it needs to be said that the "new" box has been rebuilt with all ...

I'd never really noticed, but this photo shows it, that they borrowed heavily from this to get the front end of the '78 GE Sigma.partyboyjay wrote:

Mine has been spot on for all my tinkering. There are numerous diagrams based on the build date of your car and whether it's wagon or sedan - some wiring diagrams are only valid for a few months! Strange.

Couldn't you get hose bits from a wrecker?
I have a bonnet release in storage I think (I just shortened mine and it works fine) but surely the others are not rare parts?

Have access to a full auto workshop, haven't done a gearbox myself (everything else on the poor old thing tho) but have someone helping who has done holden boxes.
We'll see how we go when the guts are open.
Thanks again.

Righto people, the time has come to bite the bullet. 1) Rebuild kit has arrived: new synchro's, bearings, and seals. 2) Spare time allocated: I've managed to wangle Tues/Wed - is two days realistic? 3) Stuff not included in kit: am I dreaming to think I can re-use roll pins, circlips, etc? 4)Gears: ...
