Re: Stock radiator any good?
Ive got an old datsun 720 thick 3 core copper radiator in my LC and it wont be beaten. Alloy core vs copper core and copper will win every time its simply a better heat exchanger. Shame they moved away from copper to alloy today. Cheaper and easier but not better. If its a decent sized copper rad it...

Re: TS ECU Wiring Questions
If it helps, on another mitsi when i did a manual conversion, just bridged the plug at the box end of it to trick it into thinking it was in neutral and never had a problem. Would just do it at the ECU end in your case but might be an easy solution if itll work

Re: LA Lancer 4g63T EVO 2 swap
Motor is meant to be on a lean from how it is in an east/west configuration, if you make the top of the motor flat technically it will be on a lean. If i had seen this earlier i would of suggested the RVR SSG variant with the CAS, which ruins off the cam gear at the front. Turbo wise, if your intere...

What is the starter out of? I would of guessed that same clutch/flywheel and starter out of the same magna would have been correct?? About to do this conversion myself so heres hoping i dont run into this problem, although im a wideblock not narrow so who knows.

i sourced and supplied an early pajero diff to stealth before he went awol. was a 3.9 hybrid LSD diff out of an early NH/J pajero if i remember correctly. I have nfi if it would work for you as it wasnt leaf spring or if it was a salisbury diff style to remove the centre. Might be something to look ...

Im thinking possibly a small cut and shut on the shifter hole in the tunnel? if the boxes are physically longer/shorter like a lancer then youll need to make way for the shifter poking through.

It depends where you go and who you get. Technically yes, you need a mod plate for an engine conversion of any kind, however most inspectors wont notice or know the difference.

Re: Aluminium Radiator to suit a Sigma.
If theyre anything like a lancer 99% of popular cars today are too big, skyline, silvia, rx7 etc etc. Looked into it pretty extensively for my LC and even maximum dimensions, rail to rail, top of panhard housing to touching bonnet still wasnt big enough. I eventually happened on a friend that had a ...

Re: Gj sigma puzzles
dont weld anything to the firewall, seen it done a few times in these old girls and it weakens the wall enough that repeated pressure on it, such as clutch in and out over time will see the area around it fail and youll be left with a bigger hole in the firewall. More long term thinking here. Either...

Forgot to say with the diff, r31 rear callipers and ba falcon sedan rear discs with a very simple adaptor plate is a big brake upgrade for the rear and minimal fuss with handbrake as r31 is on calliper not internal or hydraulic.

I have a 2wd from a 91 I believe. The best part is that all hilux diffs are essentially the same from the 80s through to 2005,same centres only. Varying slightly in overall length. I got lucky and found an lsd high ratio that's only 5mm wider than the lc diff so almost a straight bolt in 5 stud to t...

Re: 4g63 gearbox options
Supra box, r154 is the most desirable but most expensive. Rx7 turbo boxes also do the trick. Bill hinchner in the states will do the bellhousing for around 350us bolt up. Both boxes will take the load. I'd also look at diff options as they're also a weak point. I've put a hilux diff in mine for many...

Re: 1980 Arrow/Celeste g32b 1.6l Stalling issue
So from what ive read it seems the problem starts when you go to put load on the engine. Assuming that all parts replaced are not faulty new products (this can happen, its not common but we will assume they are) It could be a few things. How old is the alternator? I cant think of anything in an old ...

Not sure if there is a flat top equivelant, but any reputable engine building shop will be able to mill out the top of the piston to be the dished equivelant (had to do it on my RVR when turbo pistons werent available they just dished NA pistons to same specs

Had to lower cooler about 2cm as the bonnet catch was fouling on top of cooler once everything was all together, as well as the grille mounting tabs, nothing a couple of washers and a longer bolt through the top didnt fix. Re: Newbie twin carb question
Twin sidedrafts for performance wise is best. I personally think without fairly heavy mods 2x 45s would be too much for a little 1.6, i would be more inclined at a couple of 35s as a personal preference. If youre throwing in a cam, and other supporting mods 40s will tune well with it. I would person...

Picked up the PWR cooler tonight. Boy another home run with fitment. perfect size. Brand new. bought at well below cost price let alone retail. Re: Maverick
Scored a free turbo blanket and radiator yesterday arvo. 3 row from a 120Y, spent 5min elongating a couple of mounting holes slightly and its a direct bolt in, core size is literally perfect for opening in support panel, outlets are in the right places, couldnt be happier for free. So possibly an up...

Im sure most aftermarket high mount manifolds will bring the turbo up well above the steering box. not sure if it would then foul the bonnet as they are obviously designed for east/west at the front of the bay but thats the first port of call i would go to for a bolt on easy solution.

Re: Magna water pump on GN engine.
Yes magnas are FWD/AWD so their pump is seperate at the back of the head which would be in the middle of the engine bay for them where space isnt an issue. For a RWD application you cant use a magna pump pretty sure. Have you looked into using an electric water pump instead?
