Upper Balance Shaft Oil Gallery Sleeve + Sealant?
Hi all, As above, regarding the knock-in sleeve as part of the balance shaft elimination kit for the upper oil gallery, how many of you apply a sealant in addition to the sleeve? I'm just looking for some peace of mind here as I installed mine without & afterward had read elsewhere that a sealan...

Re: 1988 Starion GSR-VR Build
As of 2017, this month I will be replacing the old tired stock 12A turbo in favour of a dealer optioned upgraded 14G turbo. I know this was an option in the US for the 2.6, not sure about Japan however. For the cars supporting modifications I could have chosen an aftermarket 16G for the same money, ...

Re: 1988 Starion GSR-VR Build
Moving onto the mechanical side of things where I have been focusing most of my time on this car, in no particular order here is some general & preventive maintenance & parts replacements to the dated 28 year stock originals which I changed over the course of last year. This is just what I h...

Re: 1988 Starion GSR-VR Build
Keeping on the subject of the interior earlier on last year I was looking to upgrade the head unit but to stay clear of anything aftermarket. I wanted something OEM & period correct to look at home inside the interior. After doing some research I found the US market 3000GT/Stealth & various ...

Re: 1988 Starion GSR-VR Build
Almost 12 months of ownership & I still don't have any decent photos of the car but I do have some updates from 2016, the most notable modification was the 1982-1984 semi-digital dash conversion. The cluster was taken from an early jap import which then found it's way to NZ from where I imported...

1988 Starion GSR-VR Build
Hi all, Not long ago I welcomed another 4G equipped car to the family. All the way from Sunshine Coast QLD I had the pleasure of driving this rare 80's machine 1,800 kilometers home. I am the 3rd Australian owner since being imported in 2007. The car itself was in need of some TLC & still is for...

Re: New OEM 4G63T DOHC Pistons & Rods - Worth?
I'll have my eyes checked next time, the part number of the pistons is MD133462. Seeing as that part number is still valid, I was able to get a quote of $98 via Amayama for a single piston. Though I could only assume it being a relatively small market of buyers would actually need these I would not ...

New OEM 4G63T DOHC Pistons & Rods - Worth?
Hey guys, I recently picked up a parts bundle which happened to include a set of 4 new unused OEM pistons (MD133402) & rods, which unfortunately are of no use to me & as such I am thinking putting them up on the market. However I want to price them fairly before advertising. What would be a ...

Re: Australian AB Cordia 'GSL-R'
It currently has been upgraded with TN Magna front brakes, though suspension-wise it still has an average set of Munroe struts with King springs, the plan is to upgrade to a pair of Evo 1-3 adjustable coilovers which require slight modification to the strut tower holes & top hats but a very wort...

Re: Australian AB Cordia 'GSL-R'
Thanks for the welcome Scorpma82.
The cars exterior condition is a little worse for wear now fast forward a few years, though once I'm finished with it mechanically the body & paint will be next which is not too far off.

Australian AB Cordia 'GSL-R'
Owner of an 1985 AB Cordia 'GSL-R' (GSL to GSR conversion) with now best of both worlds option-wise including power steering, windows, mirrors (standard), A/C & now also the EFI. Family owned from around '94, it was off the road for 2 years due to a minor front end accident back in 2009-2010. So...
