I originally copied your idea with the o2 sensor in the stock manifold and it always leaked even with copious amounts of muffler putty. Also the o2 sensor thread is definitely not 12mm, i'm wondering what this has been confused with!

The Holden Astra electric power steering pump is a nice bit of kit if you don't want to muck around with belts.

Re: 4g54 Pistons
Fixed a while ago. Used original block, pistons out of an old motor, new rings, new bearings, honed bore and linished crank.
Had some problems with a blocked oil return (long story) and then a non sealing head gasket but it's going fine now at about 15 psi.

Re: Cottees' TR/TS EFI conversion guide WIP
Dizzy itself doesn't control advance. The ecu adjusts the signal to the coil ignitor based on it's ignition table. You should be able to see if this function is working using a timing light and revving the motor up. Manually rotating the dizzy adjusts the static timing as it changes the position of ...

4g54 Pistons
I recently cracked a ring land in my Sigma (4g54, Astron 2). I have cleaned up the crank and replaced all the bearings. I purchased replacement rings; but they were made of brittle black iron rather than the shiny steel like ones it came with. On installing one of the no.2 rings, it actually cracked...

Standard size organic will not hold and getting a custom flywheel/clutch setup has been quoted at $1200. I'm not willing to throw that sort of cash at a 4G54.

I have another motor now, I guess i just buy a full gasket kit and swap over the timing chain and balance shaft eliminator kit and drop the head back on. Oh and buy a starion ceramic clutch from the US.

Re: Matt's Red GN
Today the Sigma decided to throw out the dipstick and a big spurt of oil on boost. I guess the old rings have given up. I'm really not sure if I should find another block and chuck it in; do a cheap rebuild; change to another motor or just scrap the project. If I do rebuild I have no idea what parts...

I've refitted the Aircon system to my sigma and need to regas the aircon. I'm having trouble finding anyone that has R12 or the equivalent HR12 in Tasmania. I don't really want to convert to R134 because it is not as efficient and the heat exchanger will probably not be adequate. I guess I'm hoping ...

Re: Matt's Red GN
Needed to mod the alternator so I could adjust it properly. It was fouling on the aircon and made it almost impossible to release tension enough to get the belt on. http://i57.tinypic.com/2ed7a0g.jpg Was filing the alternator down a bit to relieve the last bit of fouling, then it fell out of the vic...

Re: Matt's Red GN
Had the car running again, except the alternator belt flipped and the car was running pretty hot. I guess the water pump may have been struggling when the alternator was loaded up. Also the car decided to run on 3 cylinders after a period of time. Has spark on cylinder 2 but removing the injector pl...

I gave up on the 3D printed fascia after I boxed the printer in and the heat warped the x axis carriage. This solution is more usable and I think it still screams 80s. http://i60.tinypic.com/8voop1.jpg http://i61.tinypic.com/sni1xd.jpg All tested and working well. It is unfortunate that the top of t...

I had to extend the loom quite a bit to use the same routing Cottees used in his EFI conversion. http://i57.tinypic.com/25q89x3.jpg http://i57.tinypic.com/20i8lmg.jpg Many of these clipse were broken.
