shit is cool.. personally if you were to go force fed i'd stick to the turbo preferably as they just sound so mean! either way this thing would haul with or without forced induction.

Re: Granny Spec Galant Goes Bosozoku
Still haven't made a decision yet.. know of a guy locally who has a 4g51 1850 motor/manual gearbox from a sigma.. apparently still goes and so forth.. but i can't find much information on them.. Besides that i now need a drivers door window regulator as i cannot put it up and down anymore.. For the ...

Re: Jordan Diff thread questions :P
you ever thought of maybe looking at a rear IRS from a starion? bit more to spend but at least then you could buy a factory lsd.. they're meant to handle a fair bit in standard form.

Re: Granny Spec Galant Goes Bosozoku
Well the 5 spd starion box is a wideblock from memory.. this is doing my head in at the moment, to many projects and the one drive car is needing attention lol. Going to just top up with oil and try additives to try give the engine a bit more life until a further decision is made..

Re: Granny Spec Galant Goes Bosozoku
Yeah biggest thing with going a engine swap is i'd have to convert to manual also.. bearing in mind this is auto... and i wouldn't want to stay auto if i was going to a new motor.. thing is though unless i can source a cheap 4g54 or alike nearing a straight bolt in and borrow my dads car or somethin...

Re: Granny Spec Galant Goes Bosozoku
So i got a new steering box in.. rear wheel bearings done in recent times.. but even after that i still have a noise from about 70km/hr and up.. suspect the differential is to blame.. Also the biggest concern at the moment is the fact i'm blowing a bit of blue smoke and noticed my oil being full is ...

Re: Granny Spec Galant Goes Bosozoku
Bad news.. Going to be a tight push to get the galant to the all japan day this weekend as i haven't got the steering box yet and now having issues with the rear wheel bearings.. unsure if parts will arrive in time.. and don't want to risk it being a fair way from home.. 50/50 at the moment.. but i ...

Re: Built for drift
Yeah your right, i spose it comes down to what level of drifting are we talking about for the galant.. may it be for pro use or just as a drift hack job which is what its leaning towards it seems. Either way it should be something worth trying especially on a budget and can always build it up over t...

Re: Built for drift
Personally i disagree with the fact that these can't be drifted.. Anything rwd can if the supporting mods are there.. even if it does take a while to actually build the car, the end result will be so worth it sliding past other nissan fanboys showing them something "different" for once. My...

Re: Granny Spec Galant Goes Bosozoku
@A112H, So you reckon the 2.5" drop in the rear is plenty? I was leaning towards 3" but being a daily unsure on what cop attention i'd get lol. @75glnt, I'll look into getting those springs as at the moment its sitting way to high for my liking! Will look into coilovers later down the trac...

65mm lowered springs sounds pretty good to me! Least something to work off anyway.. Just trying to work out what blocks i'd need in the rear to match now.. 2 - 3"... hmm...

cheers man. bit of a disappointment with the colour match.. but a few of the panels are original so i gotta expect some colour difference's... Keen to respray it in the future though ;). Now onto getting the wheels painted/polished up and buying 2 - 3" blocks for the rear and either choppies in...

Re: Built for drift
2.6 turbo will have alot of low down grunt anyway enough to get you sliding for a bit of fun anyway. Tempted to put something similar into mine if its straight forward so i can hit the streets up with a bit more power at the pedal..

Re: Built for drift
That sounds awesome! Personally i think if you were just starting off you could just weld the diff.. coilovers in the front with fairly stiff spring rates and dampening.. A decent handbrake to get it out sideways and then i would turn all attention to motor/gearbox choice. Whats your main ideas firs...

Re: Keep or remove vinyl roof?
Personally i would remove it.. Car looks a whole lot cleaner without it.. Even if the vinyl roof is in good nick. Hidden rust is always beneath them buggers also.. The galant needs a fresh full colour all over to really bring out its true loving shape many of us obviously enjoy. That's my opinion an...

Re: Fuel/temp gauge not working and CHG light
I would also look at the regulator box located in the engine bay to the drivers side near the strut tower.. IF the plug has fallen out/disconnected it will throw that light to i have found out. Just replaced my battery.. chucked in a second hand alternator.. then found the loose plug so was spewing....
