Re: GB Galant Diff Question.

Thanks for the comprehensive answer Jason. I do have a complete Scorpion which I was still deciding what to do with. Sounds like I might be wrecking it ;-)

No Simon, this thing is locked solid. Not a great option.

Re: GB Galant Diff Question.

So explain this 10 bolt concept please. What do they come out of? Will I need to shorten it to fit the little Galant? I would rather an open diff than the welded one.

Re: GB Galant Diff Question.

So I'm getting a Triton diff shortened then? Seems simple, but a little costly.

GB Galant Diff Question.

Hi Guys, I have a GB Galant Rally car that someone has previously welded the diff up on. I would really rather an LSD as the "CIG Locker" creates a fair bit of understeer on the dirt. So my question is, would the centre be interchangable with anything else? I'm thinking Sigma/Scorpion or s...

Re: What's it worth?

Hey guy's , thanks for the replys. A Khanacross car. Which is basically short course dirt rally. My plan is to put a 3.0lt triton motor in it. Should go OK. But I have a few other projects already. So too-ing and fro-ing. :)

What's it worth?

Hey guys. I have picked up an 82 Scorpion in original 2.6 5speed country car condition. Originally I was going to gut it out to a race car. But then I thought that might be a shame. Are these old girls starting to be worth anything yet? Yes I'm being lazy, I could do my own homework, but I thought I...

Re: Astron engine conversion into galant/lancer

Thanks Jason, yes it is. Went to see my Mates at the Hyundai wreckers this arvo. There are slight differences in ring gear size, radius on pressure plate bolts etc. I got a 6 bolt flywheel, NEW clutch plate and a S/H pressure plate which will all work from a 4G63. I will need to get the centre hole ...

Re: Astron engine conversion into galant/lancer

I'm figuring the 6 Bolt Flyfwheel I have must be from a 4G54.
Do you know is the Sonata 4G63 a 6 Bolt?

Re: Astron engine conversion into galant/lancer

Hi guys, I need some expert help here. I'm trying to put a 4G52 which came out of an AUTO GE Sigma, into a GB Galant with a 4 speed box. They are both narrow bolt pattern and it fits in nicely, however I'm having issues with the clutch. The Galant has 5 Holes to bolt the flywheel to the Crankshaft, ...
