So just to be sure are you adjusting the valves of each cylinder when tgat particular cylinder is at the top of the intake stroke?? It could be a really silly question but I have to ask ;)

Re: new engine for my 77 GE

Your local machine shop bloke will be able to get all the bits you need. The only drama was the cam. I sent mine to watson racing cams in sydney. They did a great job. I went twin carbys, 40 thou bore, full ballance, big cam ( 26-66 ) . Removed ballance shafts and its unreal for the little 4 banger!...

Re: timing chain kit

When I did mine I just got one from the machine shop that did all my machining. Its not worth going for a cheap one. The last thing u want is that sucker snapping or failing prematurely. Youll love no ballance shafts! Makes a big difference!!

Re: Machining costs

Well this is wher you can open a can of worms ;) obviously if you go with a bore you'll need new pistons and rings, then you'll concider if while its out you just say bugger it and do a full rebuild! The cheep option of a bore and some new slugs is relatively cheep. You'd have a machine bill of prob...
