Re: GH Ignition Barrel

the ignition barrel usually has a small pin on its circumference that locks into a small hole in the casing, you need to smack it in with a pin punch to get it out.

i dont know if that is how GH's work but alot of cars are like that

Re: EFI on an Astron 1 motor...

if i had to put an efi manifold on an astron 1 head id just get a length of 1/2" x 1" steel bar and drill it to match the bottom row of studs and use it to "clamp" down on the sticky-outy bits of the manifold flange untill i found an astron II head.. ive welded extra bits to a tu...

I'm can't remember if I hit mine with a hammer or not but the magna sump will work.. Look for a TS magna, as late a model as possible (up till 1996) TR should be OK if you can't find a TS. Tm tn tp have the less desirable heads

Re: Another engine question please....

I'm not too sure on that one... I know I have seen/heard of a few belt drive 4g32 dizzys being electronic.. I also remember somebody saying they swapped the guts of a Starion dizzy into a 4g32 points dizzy... I reckon look for one out of a mid to late eighties 4g32 or 4g62/3

Re: Another engine question please....

I don't know if its a 2 to 2.6 thing or a sigma to magna thing but I do know a 2l sump is too wide for a magna block.. you'll need to use a sigma flywheel, starter and the sandwhich plate between the engine and gearbox As far as I know the engine itself is the same between car by and efi, although t...

Re: Another engine question please....

Yea mate all magnas are narrow block.. And they have the water pump running off a belt off the back off the cam. Gotta smack a Welch plug into the hole for the water pump and run a GN timing cover With the narrow/wide block thing generally all Saturn's and 4g52s are narrow block, 4g54 auto and fwd i...

Siemens DEKA injectors

hey team can anyone tell me if siemens DEKA injectors will fit our magna manifolds? ive found a great deal on a set of 6 60lb injectors but they look funny they are high impedance, 74 mm long, only 16mm diameter and have 14.5mm top and bottom o-rings whats the story with high vs low impedance anyway?

Re: Galant rear end options

I'm not talking about a GH diff though I'm talking about a bw78 series diff out of a skyline/commodore/falcon which is ~1500mm, GH is ~1400mm and Galant is 1320mm I believe.. the bw78 has one axle 90mm(I think, its been awhile, might be 60mm) longer than the other so take 180mm off the long axle and...

They were the 1.8 DOHC engines (G62B) No rwd exhaust manifolds that I know of are available for it - it wll have to be a full custom thing.
ive seen many CA/CB GSR lancers with the 1600 dohc efi engine

Re: Galant rear end options

Mine was shortened and was converted to leaf.. they've got a short axle and a long axle, use the short axle as the long one and cut down the long axle to use as the short one, then you've only got to cut one new set of splines and when you snap the "long" axle you don't have to modify the ...

yea i used the bw78 series diff in my hatchback.. theres a fair few skylines falcons and commodores around so theyre easy to find and hold up pretty good. only problem is you cant really just whack a new centre in when one blows.. theyve got to be set up properly, shimmed etc etc
