Re: Mrelshauno's 1850 (GD) Coupe begins (Pic Heavy)

And still it drags on. I changed job's 6 months ago. I used to sell cars for a living so wasn't able to do on "on the side" as it was a conflict of interest. However since leaving that job I have been on a wheeling and dealing frenzy! Bank account for the car looking much better so now tim...

Hard to believe it's 2.5 years since I first posted this on here, slow progress aye.
Have to post more to get the page views up I guess.
Seats will be the next to get done as all I have to do is deliver them and pay!

Re: Mrelshauno's 1850 (GD) Coupe begins (Pic Heavy)

Well it's been a while since I updated things here. We moved house just over a year ago and the car hasn't bee touched until last week. In our new town I have met a retired Panelbeater who is related to me who said he would look at the car after he had finished some other projects off. He came aroun...

Anyone know anything about this hardtop? http://t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSLGErrkPy99BrDr7BFHKnzVRorMU4gWIIdHbOjfNBYhxW_yLrx It's an NZ car. It appears that it is tucked up in someones garage at the moment as the registration is on hold. Not one that I have seen. http://www.carjam.co.nz/car...

Re: seat rails..

I brought seats with rails from a GTO to fit in my GD. Bolt spacing was all the same but the GTO was lower.
Got it in alright but kept catching when sliding seat back and forward so just put the rails from the GD onto the GTO seats and all good.

So I can get one of these from an L200; http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-par ... 910914.htm and fit it to the 10 bolt disc brake EX Lancer diff I have acquired with no problem then?

Re: fuel tank question

I have a good mate with a radiator shop and he repairs fuel tanks. To neutralize the vapours hook a hose up to your exhaust and then seal that onto the tank (that has been removed) and leave the car running for 20 - 30 minutes and you will be good to go but to be honest something. Like that is best ...

Re: Mrelshauno's 1850 (GD) Coupe begins (Pic Heavy)

2 cars brought and two cars sold. Another $1300 in the bank fairly quickly. Went to my regular trade Panelbeater for work the other day. He asks whether my Mitsi was finished yet? I said "Have you seen it come here yet". "No" Well, neither have the Painters. Not far away though a...

Re: Mrelshauno's 1850 (GD) Coupe begins (Pic Heavy)

It seem's criminal that I haven't updated this in nearly 3 months. Not too much has been going on other than saving money. I talked to an auto upholsterer the other day for some prices including the difference from vinyl to leather and I was pleasantly surprised. Only $200 or so difference to get a ...

Definitely try to remove as much as you can first by wire brush/wheel. See my build thread for what I did on my bumpers;

Re: How to install a factory tacho in non tacho GC/ GD.

I have just finally gotten around to re-installing mine and have a spare wire with plug and was unsure if it was hooked up in the past. I have checked my other spare dash's and they are all the same, a green and a blue wire together with a plug on the end. There is about 3 bits of green insulation t...

Re: Thermo Fan for a 4G32

You shouldn't need to do that. Have you ever had the radiator cleaned? I don't mean taking the hoses off and running the hose through it either. For years I have had a mate sponsor my race cars who owns a Radiator shop and I have learnt a bit about them but have seen a heap of radiators that look ok...

Re: Scorpion Diffs

I think it was only the GT Turbo EX Lancer that got LSD's. Very hard to come by and fetch good coin. I regularly see these diffs on Trademe with people asking if it is LSD. 99% of the time it isn't. I have just purchased a 10 bolt from one of these to put in my GD and hope to get an LSD one day.

Are there many of you in this neck of the woods? We are looking at going to Maloolaba for a week in October and I thought it would be cool to maybe catch up with some of you.

Bumper corners arrived yesterday. They look better than new. We filled up the hollows where the mounting backets are spot welded on so they are smooth as. Sunday I will reassemble and also reinstall my dash cluster to see if the rev counter goes.
