I'm able to get into the forum ok now, but the recent issues have allowed me to see, and have to deal with, the Security question process which needs work, hence my post!

Re: 80s Colt, Saturn 1.6, low ks, smokey as!
Thanks guys. The motor is actually a Saturn so maybe it has been swapped at some point? Oil change was the first thing I did when I got it home apart from getting it running. Could not running Valve Saver fluid since Leaded petrol being cut out added to it's demise? Or did 86 colts have unleaded mot...

Re: Starter clicking but no turnover on 69 Colt and 74 galan
Thanks mate yeah I had already bench tested the starter before putting it in. Had a win last night though. Pulled the starter out again, double checked all the wiring and cleaned up the wiring to the new relay. Pretty much methodically connected everything back again - success! The thing is cranking...

Re: Starter clicking but no turnover on 69 Colt and 74 galan
Ah ok! I'm a tad rusty with this stuff but to confirm the idea would be to run permanent power to the relay, earth it, then run the ignition wire to the relay. When the key is turned, it activates the relay therefore feeding it the full 12v from the battery yeah?

Re: will a siggy turbo diff fit my gb?
Correct, Turbo diff is just as shit as the others! Only difference I have ever noticed though is I pulled the centre out of my first GH Turbo and it actually had a "window" which allowed me to lock it without pulling the centre apart. Not sure if that was a once off though. I've heard the ...

Re: Starter clicking but no turnover on 69 Colt and 74 galan
Thanks Nick, it definitely is still relevant advice! I've tried a couple of times over the past week or two and still no go. I've removed and cleaned wires, connections etc. I'll give this a go over the weekend and report back!

Re: Towing with a sigma
Towing Capacity is something I find interesting and I had to research it a fair bit when I bought my car trailer as it needed to be complianced. My trailer is fairly small but still weighs 680kg ( the ramps alone weigh 32KG each! ). The weight limit on your average Car Trailer including all your hir...

Re: Starter clicking but no turnover on 69 Colt and 74 galan
Thanks mate! The one thing I somehow have an abundance of is 60s Colt Starter Motors so yeah I've tried 3. So just to clarify the wire I'm looking for heat through - is that the power wire from the battery? I'll start with the earth strap cleaning first and go from there .

Re: How to get the GH Turbo Aircon working?
Ha Ha, yeah I got that Jase! I'm pretty sure it's out of gas etc but I vaguely remember there is some problem with getting 80's cars regassed or something? I'll happily pay the $100ish if a regas is all that is needed!

How to get the GH Turbo Aircon working?
With the GH Turbo on Historic rego now and the warmer weather making it actually nice to drive ( no cold starts and epic choke requirements ) I’ve been thinking about the air con again. Whenever I get round to restoring it I was going to look at getting it all working as it’s my understanding it wil...

Re: GH Sigma and 1970 Colt light issues
I had another go at the cars today and I exhausted all efforts with the Ute, then all of a sudden the indicators started working again. Maybe some of the WD40 I used found it’s way somewhere? I’ll take the win though! The Sigma is another story. I found the 6 pin headlight relay and tried to test a ...

GH Sigma and 1970 Colt light issues
Hi guys, I suck at Electrics and 2 small things are stopping me from enjoying my toys :(. 1. GH Turbo No Dash Lights or parkers. Brake lights and headlights work fine. Using test light and multimeter I have confirmed there is no power to the fuse box, however when I turn the switch I can hear the &q...

Anyone ever towed an 87 Express van?
My car trailer bed is 3600 x 1700 and the biggest car I've used it for is my GK Sigma. In terms of weight I have 1320kg up my sleeve with the trailer complianced for 2 tonne and weighing 680kg on it's own. I can't seem to find the specific weight for the 87 model Express, only the newer ones which a...

Re: Please allow use of iPhone forum browser
To be honest I don't visit the site as much as I used to due to the hit and miss nature of logging in. Some links log me in, some don't. On my Iphone I am completely blocked, on a PC it asks me to name a car in the logo then denies me access anyway. Other times in the past it has asked me to type in...

Re: Please allow use of iPhone forum browser
I'd be up for a better way. Yesty I tried to log in more than 3 times and it locked me out. It said I needed to confirm the details from a pic that wasn't there. I then found another open browswer window and was able to use it but then this morning I couldn't. Jump on the PC and all is sweet. The us...
