Re: Hey Guys!
Hi David. Congrates on your purchase and welcome. However, what you have is a special car in your hands. My advise is to leave it standard as much as possible and enjoy it the way it was intended to be. If you want to butcher a car then do it to a toyota or mazda. Use one of them as your project and...

Re: picked up a stronger diff, need info on it.
Slimer, I have fitted a TA Celica diff to my LB sedan which is about 50mm wider than standard. I didnt cut it down. The Lancer's do perform/track much better with a wider track at the back. i.e. They wont let go as quick and turn around on you in a max oversteer situation. What you will have to do i...

Re: Fuel Gauge Issue
Yeah, that was next thing to do. I was just seeing if there was an electrical solution. But I think it makes sense to do a manual ajustment. It has a plastic float fitted. I have tested it in a bucket of water and its very bouyant

Re: my lb lancer hatch racecar build
Mate, it looks unreal. Let me know when you get it going I'd love to come and have a look. I haven't caught up with many Lancer owners in Brissy or around the sth east. I would be good to see it in a tarmac sprint. I'm getting lonely at events (LOL) as I'm the only mitsi there, let alone any Lancers...

Nice looking ride mate. If you ever get stuck for parts let me know, I have a cupboard full of NOS, some 2nd hand bits and peices and a complete spare car (with 2.6). I'm in Brisvegas so PM me if you need something and we can see how we go.

How much tension needed on flywheel bolts
Hi
I am dropping a new dong (1600 4G32) into my Lancer rally car and whilst i'm at it I am installing a new button clutch and lightened flywheel. Can anyone advice me what tension I need apply to the bolts when replacing the flywheel?
Cheers, David

Tappet Cover Gasket Help
Hi, I am having difficulty with the spare parts vacum in Brisbane in locating the correct replacement rocker cover gasket. I have a 1978 LB, 4G32 1600 Saturn engine. The gasket that has come off the cover is slotted so it slides on to the alloy over. The part Repco and Autobarn are trying to sell me...

Matt Thats a wicked story. I love it. Your story galvanises the reasons why we do what we do. I too have had a love for early Lancers since I was a kid in the 70's. My first exposure was seeing one in a car yard and being the young dreamer focused on the model since then. BTW, I have also fixated on...

Re: Roll cage plans?
Hey Pistol, the advice you have been getting looks sound. However, I would like to offer some further advice as I have just replaced an alloy cage with a 6 point steel cage and moved from AMSAG logbook to CAMS logbook. I am also road registering my car in QLD as well. If you can get it registered fi...

I will respond to both the two posts. Mate, thanks a heap for fixing up my pics they look cool. How did you enliven the link to show the pic? BTW, I have not run the rally car in a gravel rally as yet. Perhaps next year is the plan thus far. What I plan to do in the meanwhile is swap the wheels over...

Hi my name is David and I live in Brissy. In my early youthful years I have had 11 Lancers all up (all LA and mostly Rally cars). After a 20 year gap of driving mostly crap cars with plastic bumpers, I have decided to launch back into the to 70's again. I now have 3 x LB 78 4 door Lancers. One Rally...

Okay, I'll have a look on ebay. But does anyone know if the bush can be removed and replaced through the gear stick hole or do you have to remove the box?

Poping out of reverse
Hi I am chasing some advice for a 5 spd sigma box (Borg Warner I think). It has the reverse selection up to the top and left. Anyway When I slect reverse it goes in okay, but when under load it pops out and grinds the gear. If I hold it in firmly it will stay there okay I think. I think it may be th...

Rebuilding a Minuki Solex Carbi from a 4G54 2.6 ltr
Hi all I am new to this forum and have recently rejoined the Mitsu owners by acquiring a number of 78 LB Lancers (3) after a 20 year gap. One of the cars is fitted with a 2.6 ltr 4G54 with a standard carby fitted, a single solex. I am rebuilding this car for the young lad as his first car and the ca...
