Re: VGJONO's 1976 GD Galant Daily

Turns out 5000r...

This is awesome, love the car and I love the engine choice, I had wondered how a 4D5x engine would fit in a galant, guess now i will see.

Cheers and goodluck

Re: VGJONO's 1976 GD Galant Daily

All still in the planning stage really but thoughts are jay racing kit to sort the Thermostat out. And for the manifold I'm not sure yet, that is the one thing this engine is lacking as its manifold was cracked and thrown out. I have seen tubular replacement low mount manifolds here and there, possi...

Re: VGJONO's 1976 GD Galant Daily

Yeah I have the flywheel from this motor and I also have a 4G52 flywheel which I am under the impression that it fits and makes the swap a little easier (someone do correct me if I am wrong) and I currently have an early 5 speed from a GE sigma in the car at the moment, KM119? and I also have a KM13...

Re: VGJONO's 1976 GD Galant Daily

Cheers mate, Plan is to keep it bone stock, Just put it back together with new rings and bearings and call it a day. For the ECU I am just going to use the factory VR4 ECU and if need be upgrade that at a later date. Keeps the costs down and should be rather reliable.

Re: VGJONO's 1976 GD Galant Daily

Yep you are correct, I did kind of hint at how stupid that purchase was but at the time i didn't plan on even looking to buy a 4G63t for another year or so, This one got offered to me for a pretty good price so I couldn't refuse. Secondly something that is going to be awesome but in a few weeks will...

Little Bit more done on the Galant, im now at the point where im Finding things to do more than anything, The car really only needs the Windscreens back in and it can be driven, which hopefully wont be much longer now. Re: 76 GD Wagon (daily Battle wagon)

I'm guessing ur going with the 4g52 purely out of money/resource limitations, but, if u were going to the extent of a 4G5x engine..wouldn't u go with the 54,.and if ur heart is set on a 2L, I'd consider a SOHC 63 to be the better option Going with the 4G52 because i already own it :P https://sconte...
