Re: GJ Sigma To Rally?

Hi, as Cheater said, I had a Sigma rally car till recently, & at club level, its a very competitive car. Mine was a GJ body, fitted with a GN Astron II motor with a Magna M6 head and TR injection, all managed by a Haltech E6H ECU. Gearbox was a Jap 5 speed & the diff was a 3.7 from a 2.0 man...

Re: GK GSR EFI conversion questions

Hi Wilksy, the one thing no-one has talked about is the compression ratio when fitting EFI heads to Astron I's. The older Astron I motor uses dished pistons, whereas the Astron II uses flat tops. When fitting Astron II heads on Astron I pistons you lose a heap of compression, thats bad if your going...

Re: Heywood Rally - Millard Memorial Trial and Khannacross

It was great to meet Mr.D at Heywood for the annual Millard Memorial Rally & Khanacross. Jamie, your photos are great, certainly equal to any I've seen from the pro photographers. My old rally Sigma performed very well in the hands of the new owner (Greg) who is still coming to terms with it, bu...

Re: The flaming GN Wagon

Many years ago I had a new VN wagon as a 'daily'. It went into the local dealer for a routine service, but on the way home I notice a great cloud of smoke billowing out the rear. I immediately stopped, opened the the bonnet to find oil everywhere, mostly all over the exhaust. Eventually traced the l...

Re: starion parts worth much?

Many Starion owners already have a 'parts' car to support their good car, so trying to sell bits can be slow. However, if you are desperate to sell, & the price is cheap enough, then you may have more luck. List what you have on this forum as many Starion owners read this site as well. Personall...

Check out some of the Perth furniture removal companies, as they often take loads east, but are always looking for loads back west & you can usually negotiate a price.

Shit, if I had that many lights on my van, it would weigh 3 tonne, & burn twice as much fuel. :( :( And I don't want it to stand out in a crowd.

Re: What's you daily?

My daily is a 2006 VW T5 Transporter van, 2.5 litre TDi turbo diesel, 6 speed manual with '4motion' (thats VW for full time AWD). This awesome vehicle is quick everywhere (0-100kmh in under 12 seconds) yet burns only 7 litres/100km of fuel. Great for a 2 tonne vehicle with the aerodynamics of a 'bri...

Re: 6 point Weld in or Bolt in Roll Cage

My preference is a fully welded in cage. My rally Sigma had a full 6 point cage, fully welded in. Couldn't believe the difference it makes to the cornering & handling. It just shows just how much flex a standard body shell must have. If the unthinkable happens & you should write off the shel...

Re: mounting a battery box

Re: fuel pump cut out switch?

Put a proper FIA-type kill switch in it as well (ie. one that cuts the ignition as well as disconnects the battery). If you fit a battery isolate switch, make sure you can reach it easily when fully strapped in by your harness. I've seen too many isolate switches mounted under the dash board which ...

If its running rich, then it ain't getting enough air, check your air filter, or do a run with no filter at all & note the effect. If its still rich, then its a fuel problem.

Joining a CAMS affiliated club is a must, not because its a requirement, but you will get all the help you need to go racing. Before you decide, you need to find out what category & classes are available to you at the track you wish to race at, as this varies from state to state. Then build the ...

What you have there is basically a 4 door Starion. A cheap crappy Staz will still fetch 2-3K, but the sky's the limit on a good one. Yours could even be rarer than a Staz, so if you reeeealy have to sell it, then don't be afraid of asking top price. Also where are you located ? Sorry to all those th...

This subject was raised a while back, & the agreement was they were too dangerous for street use, so end of discussion. But, for drag racing now thats a new story.
Any good fibreglasser should be able to use a stock Sigma door to make a mould for a fibreglass skin.
Good luck.

Under SA's hoon laws, police usually place wheel clamps on your car for 7 days, leaving the car in your own backyard, or did they physically confiscate your car & take it away to a Police lock up ?
