L200 Haltech EFI-Need some help with magna head info

So i have a '83 L200 was a 4g63 Narrow block with 5 speed box. Ive swapped in a 4g54 widebock motor from a 92 triton in with a hemi magna head. All the gear is magna EFI gear except the ecu which is a Haltech PS1000 and the car is dyno tuned. Long story short when i did the swap the coolant temp sen...

Re: TUFSIG, GK Sigma GSR 2.6 EFI Turbo

hey i can send you a good base tune for the sprint 500 or sport 1000. i just got my Triton efi'd with the Platinum Sport 1000 i'd recommend spending the extra and getting a sport rather than sprint- i must admit i haven't owned a sprint but the sport has a lot of useful features and it has really li...

you will find that that the crank and rods are quite strong but you may swap the pistons to forged and use a design that decreases your comp ratio

Re: Triton Turbo

you would want to pump a fair bit of oil so it doesnt churn and helps to keep the oil cool. chances are that the turbo galants were tapping into a pressure oil galley rather then a return one. i found that the efi conversion is really awsome and ill be upgrading my brakes and tyres before i turbo th...

Re: Building turbo manifolds

man any engineering/machining supplys/ industrial supply's should have ample steam pipe. i think cheater is saying don't use stainless, use plain for the cylinder head flange and i agree. use cast for that if you can or a steel with low thermal expansion/contraction.

Re: Timing problems!

not doubting your ability but have you made sure the firing order is correct for the 4g54 its 1342. also i found with older motors you can put the dizzy cap on 180* dizzy rotation due to the old plastic dizzy cap not keying properly.. get a timing light find out when it works what your running. u wa...

Re: Building turbo manifolds

you will probably have less issues with steam pipe. the amount of restriction at the exhaust turbine really makes 'high performance' extractors pointless except where absolute efficiency is needed. plus steam pipe is more resistant to heat and less likely to contract and expand.

Re: Timing problems!

did you tension the chains correctly as per the workshop manuals recommendations? did you ever touch the carb. the black soot could be due to having the timing so far off that the fuel air mixture isnt burning properly. perhaps some engine specs would be helpful. and yes timing should be done with a...

This really has made a positive difference, the car is alot more responsive and aggressive. I also put on a big muffler which quietens it down aloy but now it sounds like a boxer when i accelerate.
