Re: Boring the 4G54?
I've been reading this thread for a while now (it's long!) Aussiegixxer, there's quite a few people on here who are trying to give friendly advice that in their opinion perhaps the 2.6 astron is not an ideal engine for what you are looking to achieve. don't get us wrong, we love working our astrons,...

Re: hoon laws!
the question remains....if they take your license why do they need to take your car too?
driving without a license should carry a much heavier penalty. and they should forget this "we're taking your car" bullshit.

Re: hoon laws!
Authorities should never be allowed to forcefully acquire someone's property unless it was purchased unlawfully or under false pretenses. the problem with confiscation is that it sets a precedent which goes completely against justice. at this rate, soon we'll be hearing things like "you walked ...

Re: Balance Shaft Removal: Pros and Cons
I used the endurotec kit same as the one on ebay. COBWBS my engine is on LPG too, I haven't had any cooling issues and the engine's 'worked' enough so it's just on the far side of mild. I'm sure everyone already knows, but balance shafts spin at TWICE engine speed. they weigh a couple of kilos each ...

Re: Balance Shaft Removal: Pros and Cons
removing the balance shafts is definitely a worth while modification to any astron. it reduces strain on the timing chain which is good for reliability and it reduces parasitic power loss as well. I already had extractors with 2" exhaust , cam, higher compression and an impco 300A gas mixer on ...

Re: 6G74 Into sigma??
same as any gas conversion, you'd need a mixer, convertor, lock-off valve, copper service line and some rubber hose for the vapour line. you would still need to get a computer worked out for the electronic ignition but that wouldn't be difficult, especially because the pajero 6G engines all had dist...

yeah somewhere between 60-75mm would be what I'm after. I've seen some scorps with off the shelf low springs and once fitted they're still higher than cheech and chong at 4:20. my scorp as it sits now with stock wheels and tire size i can easily fit my entire fist between the top of the tire and the...

Re: 6G74 Into sigma??
there's a triton 2wd gearbox that bolts straight up to a 6g74 It has very short ratio gears, being from a commercial vehicle. a few years ago and the cheapest price i could find was $1650..which i thought was ridiculous. re: loom and wiring. I was planning to run a 6G74 on LPG. no sensors, no comput...

you can get copper head gaskets made from 0.5mm to anywhere up to 3.5mm.
standard is 1mm. if I recall correctly.
maybe that would be all you need?

Re: 6G74 Into sigma??
this topic comes up every now and then. I have a magna motor for a dummy and a super-select pajero bellhousing. looking at it, a celica 5 speed box would be able to work with an adaptor plate quite easily. wouldn't be the strongest though. it's been a few years...one of these days i'll pick up where...

Re: What should i do
what does it rev at 110kmh now? is it currently still factory carb 2.6? 1.8 turbo swap sounds ok, but if it's torque down low you want, a N/A 2.6 may be more up your alley. EFI turbo is a costly and time consuming swap for a daily driver I think. I think option 2 sounds good. Magna 2.6 EFI and give ...

Camira strut inserts?
hey all, I'm looking to go about 3" lower than standard on my 83 scorp.
I've seen mentioned in here about using camira strut inserts in starion struts.
do the camira inserts have a shorter stroke or something like that?
and what modifications are required to fit them?

Re: Liquid gas injection
There's no liquid gas injection on the market yet, only vapour injection. they're Very different. liquid injection should provide a performance boost because in it's liquid state it's -40c and will so not only will the fuel density be higher, but air density as well! but it would cost more due to th...

nice work dan, wheels look pretty damn nice too!
those patrol diffs are known to be tough as nails for rock crawlers and heavy towing rigs. so you'll never break it in a lancer lol.
and most of all it's nice to see someone do something that hasn't been done before.

16x8 +0 will they fit?
Hey guys, I'm looking at some XXR 002 wheels for the scorp. I know 16x8 +0 will be fine for the rear, but it's a concern for the front due to extra strain on bearings and steering components, not even sure if they'd fit. though I'm sure I've seen some monstrous wheels on sig-gal before, like boof's ...

Re: Performance LPG setups ??
There's two types of impco 300 mixers,
300 1&20 (about 350CFM)
300 2&50
the 2&50 have a larger diaphragm and can flow more, however I've never seen one. they may be quite rare?
