Re: '81 Scorpion- Getting there. Slowly.

Can I assume that the Sigma lower trailing arms are the same as the Scorpion ones? Want to mount up a rear swaybar, and I'd rather avoid fabrication as much as possible because I weld like a mildly retarded chimpanzee with beer goggles on.

So things didn't go my way, Nan took pretty ill on Friday so I had to stay home and look after her. No great hassle, I should be able to get out next weekend.

Re: Random Starion Photos

It's possible that Starion a few posts back still has a G54, there's at least one over there making 700+hp atw from a 2.6T. BIG dollars though, and an even bigger turbo lol

Re: Tyres

these are in a different league to the 595EVO's Yeah, I know. The Federals would make for a shit-tonnes better street tyre though, and they really are quite good, hence the recommendation :) Personally, I wouldn't be using proper semis (ie R888's, 595RS-R's, RE55's, KU36's etc) on the street too of...

No personal experience, but from what I've heard they're pretty brilliant when up to temperature and it's dry. In the wet, fugeddaboudit. Just like most semis really. Make sure you match the front with a similar tyre, unless you want mucho hondasteery badness. Gonna recommend Federal 595EVO's, I've ...

Re: '81 Scorpion- Getting there. Slowly.

Still haven't done anything with this, been too busy. Might get somewhere with it in the next couple weeks, depends on if I can stump up the money to buy this DASH-powered flatbody Starion I'm looking at or not. It's a bit rough, but that's never bothered me. Mechanically good though, couple of mino...

Re: 4G63BT SOHC Wiring diagram

Pretty sure it's just Mitsubishi's take on a TVIS-style system. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T-VIS Could be wrong though, so don't quote me on it. I think you're thinking of the Sirus Dash heads. They're 12 valve and operate off a solenoid system and open the third valve at a certain rev point. The...

Gave up on the turbo idea, CBF making it work.

Just gonna do EFI, suspension, maybe a locker, and drive the wheels off it. Simple is best.

Coupe- Fixed rear windows, like the 2-door LC/LJ Toranas and Datsun 1200 coupes
2-door hardtop- rear windows roll down and no B-pillar, like the Scorpions.

At least, I think that's how it goes. Don't quote me on it, because I could be wrong.

Steel wheel, no shaft play, apparently good for 14psi of supermassive response. Should be fun

Just wondering, are the piston rings the same for all Astron 1 4G54's? Ordered a set for my GJ Scorpion yesterday, only just remembered that the engine's from a GH.

Probably should have done a tad more research into the subject, rather than going off what the local engine builder told me about more power=worse economy.

Re: Carburetor issues?

My dad's Inter Acco gets the same economy figures, and that's a 10t truck lol. Not as bad as my mate's 12A BP 808 wagon though, it was lucky to get 150km to a tank on the highway. ~27L/100km, provided my assumption of a 40L tank is correct. That said, it sounds pretty usual for a big-bore carby 4cyl...

Speaking of wacky ideas, LSD, front coilovers, sort the rear suspension, decent brakes that fill out those 16's, orange gradient Recaro LS front seats w/burgundy interior, Nardi Classic, DOHC 4G63T conversion and slam it

Josh & Chris' GE Scorpion rally car- Planning stage

Alright, this is just being talked about at the moment but both my brother and I are hell keen on the idea, so it's more than likely it'll go forward. Hence the thread. Picked up a set of extractors for this. My sister's boyfriend picked them up for me off some guy in Wollongong and sent them home with my old man, cost me a grand total of $30. The welding where it was attached to the last exhaust is horrendous, and they're not the best design-wise, but they'll be l...

Re: front crossmember from vn dunnydore

If I remember right, the VT/VX is a fair bit wider than the VN-VS platform.
Had a look under my VC a while back and it looks closeish, and I know for a fact that a VN crossmember bolts into a VB-VL, so it might work. Dunno. Would probably need mods like Billsy said.
