Off the shelf replacement exhaust GE Sigma
Hey - just wondering if anyone knows where you can get an off the shelf replacement exhaust system for a GE Sigma, 2000 sedan? SuperCheap Auto used to list them on their website last year, but no longer do.

Re: Did any Sigma come out with a bonnet emblem?
The "SE" designation was a Chrysler thing. It was used on Australian Valiants (high end models) and on American Plymouths and Chryslers as well. In October 1980 when Mitsubishi bought out Chrysler Australia, the SE bonnet emblem disappeared off the cars. Mitsubishi had no license to contin...

Sigma fan clutch question/problem
My GE Sigma fan clutch seems to be working incorrectly. With the engine cold, the fan spins quite fast, as the engine heats up, the clutch slips more, so the fan speed reduces. I'm assuming it should work opposite to this? Any suggestions as to where to get a new fan clutch (assuming I need one)? Th...

Re: speedo cable question
According to the parts manual, there were 3 different speedo cables.
GE3 = 4 speed manual, 1600
GE7 = 5 speed manual, 2000
GE8 = auto, 2000
See pdf documents:

Re: Cooling system issues
All, so it seems to be fixed. Am not sure what I did though. I did empty the cooling system, and put a flush product through it. Also replaced the thermostat and the radiator cap. So far so good. Has been a week with no coolant loss and no overheating. Also, heater now works nicely, which it wasn't ...

GE Sigma vacuum questions
Hi, Two questions. 1) Apart from the not very detailed diagram in the service manual, does anyone have one showing the correct vacuum hose routing for a GE Sigma, 2 litre, Automatic? 2) Currently am getting no vacuum at idle at the tube connected to the distributor vacuum advance. So making sure I'v...

Re: Cooling system issues
Hi - thanks for the response. The confusing thing is, there's no bubbles visible in the coolant, no steam out the exhaust. No oil in coolant, no coolant in oil. Head was checked and resurfaced prior to installation. New head gasket installed of course. Compression is within specified values (checked...

Re: Cooling system issues
Checked timing - it's as per the service manual specifications. Running out of ideas. Radiator is only 6 months old. Faulty radiator cap maybe allowing coolant to boil?

Cooling system issues
Hi - recently replaced the head gasket on my GE Sigma (2 litre) as it seemed to be using coolant (no external leaks). Head gasket and cylinder head all appeared OK (had cylinder head resurfaced anyway), and put it all back together. Now is still seemingly using coolant (nothing in the engine oil tha...

GE brake master cylinder - can I use a TM Magna one?
Hi - just wondering if anyone's used (or thinks it would be OK) To use a brake master cylinder from a TM Magna in a GE Sigma. Alternatively, does anyone know where to get the orginal GE Sigma (PBR Type) master cylinder?
Thanks,
John

Re: Sigma Turbo Air con - what am I missing?
The original refrigerant gas used was R12, this is still available, but is expensive and in short supply. Also, it can only be supplied/recovered by an EPA approved person. The 'newer' type gas was R134, which was made mandatory in 1994 for all new vehicles. You can't charge an R12 system with the n...
