1978 Scorpion 2L Astron
Just realized I posted in the wrong section so here it is again: I have a 1978 Scorpion (2L Astron) which I have just de-registered. It is stripped out and just a shell.. but this is how I have been driving it until I got unlucky. A beautiful car.. no rust or dings.. I have done lots to it over the ...

Scorpion 1978 GE Timing Chain Rattle
I hear timing Chain rattle when the engine oil is hot and at idle speed.
Otherwise the engine goes really well and the noise is only at idle after driving.
No oil burning but a bit of rear main leakage.
Do I need to worry about this noise?
Thanks ...Roger

Anything to be gained by removing the standard air filter?..apart from dirty oil.

Re: Scorpion GE Electric Fuel Pump?
Oh thanks so much guys! I will stick with the standard mechanical fuel pump( I thought maybe removing it would improve performance). Also have now replaced some hoses and will stick with the manifold heating..thanks for confirming my suspicion about this. And I will keep the fuel canister...it all l...

Scorpion GE Electric Fuel Pump?
Scorpion 1978 2L GE Any benefit in replacing a mechanical fuel pump with an electric unit? Can someone please help me understand the fuel supply to this Astron engine? It is complicated with the accelerator pump supplied from an outboard cannister. Also can the water cooling pipes be simplified if I...

Re: window rubber
Was anyone able to source the windscreen rubber for early GE Scorpion?
Has anyone purchased the Rubber Kit from RareSpares? Does it include everything?
My car is a 1978 GE Scorpion.
Maybe of interest...my Scorpion has the 'TransAm' grille..a rarity I think.
Cheers...Roger

Re: 79 Gh Scorpion parts
I would be interested in FG bonnet lid if this was available.(1978 Scorpion GE 2.0L)
These were a great model car yet still we find ways to improve on the original design.
Reducing weight is a good way to get more performance and economy.
Cheers...Roger

Re: 1978 Chrysler/Mitsubishi GE Scorpion 4G52 Engine Distributor
I am still having trouble finding a dizzy or vacuum advance for this model.
Anyone on here able to help me?
The distributor itself is very good but may be an option to replace this if the price is reasonable.

Re: Car hesitates when you stab the throttle.?
Thanks for your help... I am having the carby repaired at the 'Carby Shop' ..Nigel says there is a ball and spring valve adjoining the float bowl which will be the problem with the accelerator pump. Regarding the dizzy vacuum advance...what can be done to repair the diaphragm? Last time I checked n...

Re: Car hesitates when you stab the throttle.?
My sigma has this exact same prolem. The problem can be brought on moreso if you're running additional accessories. For example, with it in neutral (and with the automatic choke worn off), the engine will happily idle @ 900rpm. If you turn on electrical accessories one by one (ie. wipers, cabin a/c...

Can someone please clarify the correct routing of fuel lines on my '78 scorpion. ie...the lines supply the accelerator pump and recirculate back to the tank.
Thanks.

Re: Car hesitates when you stab the throttle.?
I also have this hesitation problem with my '78 Scorpion. Tried sucking on the vacuum advance and it doesnt respond at all. It seems to be letting in air. Ive never had a faulty vacuum advance before ..is this likely to be the prob? Also there doesnt appear to be much vacuum from the manifold. Thank...
