Re: my weekend at the local khanacross

Hey 75glnt, I'm also building my gb for this sort of thing. Here are a few sites to check out for this sort of thing in our area: http://www.hsccq.com/ Mostly Willowbank for MotorKhana/Khanacross, http://www.iwmac.org.au Bundamba for Autocross/Dirt Sprints, http://www.qldraceways.com.au/home.php Wil...

Wow, great read mate.

I am currently building my GB for the track and will be referring back to your thread for idea's.

On that I have a question, What mods were required to fit the Siggy rad in?

Morgan is a great inspiration for me, cheers for the write up :D

Re: What do you want to know how to do?

I would love to see a write up on different Brake setups on Green struts. There has been plenty of talk in different posts about this subject but nothing of a guide. Things like what would be needed eg. Calipers, Disks, Hubs etc. How to make a new bracket to fit the said setup etc...

Cheers

Re: Stupid wide block into GD Galant question

Also, if you grab a Jap Box out of a Scorp, it has a shorter extension housing which means, A. Easier fit B. No hack job for the Stick hole C. No need to shorten the prop shaft  . You will need to change the slip yoke though (or possibly fit the scorp prop shaft, I'm not sure of this as i ...

Re: GB GALANT WANTS TO CRANK

Hey Mate, I have put a 4g54 carb engine in my gb. I haven't taken it to get a roady yet but its within the regulations for engine replacements for QLD. Likely you will need a mod plate but they are only a couple of hundred and easy to come by. you will probably need a brake upgrade in the fronts to ...

GE\GH Caliper alternatives?

Was replacing the disc rotors and pads in my GH fronts that are going into the GB. One of the calipers are ceased and now i need a replacement.

Was wondering if there are any other calipers that will fit straight on or with a bracket that will work with the discs and pads that i got?

Cheers

I'm not sur if they are all th same but I managed to fit a wide block 2.6 with a 5 speed out of a scorp ( shorter than a normal jap 5 speed. I tried to fit a 5 speed bw box in before this and it wouldn't go. I haven't got it running yet but from what I can see it has clearance all round, plus I only...

Hey, I've been searching the forum for hours and have come up with nothing. I'm trying to work out what radiator i can use in my GB with the 2.6 conversion i have done. Re: Special Interest Vehicle registration.(QLD)

Using the eQuote on the TMR website i got $697.30 for 12 month regular registration or $221.80 for SIV (with category 5 CTP). That includes $15 duty because of New rego on a $500 purchase price.

Its on the first page under chrysler. $201 for front and $253 for the rear.

Thing is, i didn't think galants had a rear sway bar?

If not, would that mean mounts would need to be welded?

I'm not sure what everyone would consider centre of brissy but i reckon southside close to the motorway so we don't have to go through toll or convoy through the city. Maybe like cannon hill or something, just a thought. Pretty sure there is a maccas or hjs around there.

Thanks man. Ill keep you in mind if it comes to that. I've got gh scorp fronts but I've found some cheap rotors on ebay I should be able to have by the time I get home. Just need to work out what sized thermo will fit a stock gb radiator. So who else is keen on coming to the variance show on the 24th?

In regards to Ignition:
How can i tell if the ignition module is incorporated with the dizzy? Is it visible on the outside.
I'm not sure what model engine i have apart from its an astron 2.
Also Should i change the coil?
