Alloy auto narrow block bellhousings
Hi guys i have a bellhousing to suit an auto behind a narrow block which i was going to use for a t5 manual conversion but it is made of steel and too heavy. Has anyone come across an alloy one? I dont have a picture of this one but on the trans side the mounting holes are in a nice circular pattern...

Re: Gearbox Solution Needed
I don't have one of bills housing but I do run dellow housing behind a 4g63 to a W58 in a LB sedan The tunnel is too narrow and not tall enough as it is for a w58, it has to be bashed out a bit to fit and achieve a decent level on the trans. Look at your tunnel it will appear to be corrugated/ribbed...

I haven't seen galant bolts before but if they are anything like all the rest of 4g mitsubishi motors (cordia, vr4 etc) Mitsubishi 380 bolts are the same and can be purchased new from a dealer

Re: Another VR4 Conversion Starter/Flywheel Issue
All sorted I only had to open up the diameter of the bolts holes in the bellhousing a few mm and take a few mm off the diameter of the sandwich plate between the bell housing and engine.
Now time to get it back on the track and break the gearbox

Re: Another VR4 Conversion Starter/Flywheel Issue
Found some more info lastnight. My original flywheel was a FWD 280mm 110tooth, the new one was meant to be the same however they used a ford ring gear which is a few mm larger in diameter. Easy fix of machining a few mm off the teeth of the ring gear but not so easy to pull it all apart. Now conside...

Another VR4 Conversion Starter/Flywheel Issue
Hi Guys just dropped a new narrow 6bolt engine with a new flywheel and clutch into the race car and I am having some issues with the starter meshing, running a w58 box with dellow bellhousing. New fly wheel should have a 280mm 110tooth ring gear (same as previous setup) I have yet to count the teeth...

If you are in it for the money, sell it and buy a datsun, old mitsubishis never get good money.

I 2nd cheaters point. Some of the fastest IPRA cars run a leaf rear end so they can definitely be made to work.

I will have to have another look at the stampings on the block I am pretty sure it had G32b but it would have made more sense for it to have been an earlier motor out of an lc.

What cars came out with Belt Drive 4G32
I pulled my spare parts LB Sedan out of storage on the weekend with the plan to get it cleaned up and running. Someone has installed a belt driven 4G32 engine into it and I need to replace some leaky gaskets so was wondering what car used this engine from factory so I can get the right gasket kit. C...

Hey cheaterparts how does your front track width compare to the rear, it is hard to tell from that pic. I have been told to try and get the front wider then the rear.

Hey Pistol, the yellow one is mine and would be the bare minimum that I would go for if you ever plan on doing regular trackdays at circuit etc, even now if my car hadn't already been logbooked it wouldn't meet the minimum CAMS requirements.

Re: weld on coilover sleeves
Hi guys I went with the sleeve kits that Otomoto sell and they fitted fine over the sigma struts the keepr/helper spring is also handy on low cars that you keep jacking up, their adjustable camber kits can also be cut down and drilled to fit into a lancer. http://www.otomoto.com.au/c/4037307/1/sleev...

Another thing that I have found good is to clean the area out park the car in the area prepsol the car using the blower and let it sit overnight. Did all of the different lancers come with the same ratio for the steering box?
After tracking my car a few times now I am finding the need for a tighter ratio.

I ended up ordering a front and rear bar through Pedders, I am pretty sure they they get them though mako but pedders worked out around the same money and without the need to worry about postage. I think it is a 24mm front and 18mm rear kit. Not to sure on the need for a rear and how it would behave...

Re: Ebay boot seals - don't fit
It said in the add to fit LA and LB sedan A72 model, mine is a factory LB sedan and has A72 plate in the engine bay. It was from Phils rotary guy, I got hold of him today and he said that he does have another seal for an A77 (NFI what that is) that is around 12" longer which sounds about right ...

Ebay boot seals - don't fit
Has anyone else tried one of the boot seals that you can by for the 4lancers on ebay? Mine arrived today and it seams to be at least 12" too short and if I try to stretch it out the seal pulls off the corners. I did have an extrusion that I bought from clarks rubber on there before that fitted ...

The car looks very nicely done, do you still have the mould for the flares I am after some bigger ones for my car as the flares I bought are struggling to cover the tyres.

Re: La diff and front brake questions
I had a series3 rx7 diff to go in my LB it is too wide stock and would need cutting down. It is only 26 spline so not the greatest thing strength wise and LSD are hard to get hold of and very expensive, only thing going for them is the stud pattern and range of gear sets. I ended up getting an early...

I was down at upullit on Sunday (north yard SA) they have a pretty complete looking LA lancer 4door there. It has already had the bonnet vents taken but there are still a lot of parts on it. Re: the good old commadore vs camira inserts debate
My understanding is that the commodore insert is about the same height as a sigma one and the camira one is around 50mm (2") shorter. If your going for a lower stance then camira inserts in cutdown struts are the way to go.

Re: Anyone done a hydraulic clutch conversion to a lb?

I used an AP Racing pull style cylinder, using this cylinder I was able to mount to master inside the cabin below the pivot point, I could have mounted a normal push style master in the cabin but it would have to have been above the pivot...
