Hey guys, I've got an 85 L200 4X4, would it make sense for me to go down the turbo route, or would I be better off upgrading the carby or just going EFI considering I take it off road? At the moment it's got a G63B from an L300 I guess and it struggles at 80kmph and the carby seems pretty routed :( ...

I've got a 1985 L200 4X4 that came without a handbrake. I grabbed one off a 2X4 L200 but it was too short. Does anyone know if a handbrake from any other model Mitsi such as an L300 4X4 or Pajero etc would fit?

Thanks for all the input guys. I took the cover of the distributor to check it was going to #1, but as I was sliding it in the cog was moving it way out of place. I worked out how to insert it so it would spin to position 1, then I replaced the cover and she started! Now I've just gotta get another ...

Thanks. I measured the bolt holes on the housing, and it seems to be around 33cm from the outer edge of the bolt holes (hopefully it's not wishful thinking...) Guess I'll know when I try and plant it into the engine bay...

I put an add out chasing a 4G6B or a 4G54 and I got a few replies. One guy said he had a well running 4G6B for $250 including the gear box and radiator etc so I went and picked it up. When I got home (after a two hour drive) I noticed that it was actually a G63B. I've never heard of them before but ...

I found a 4G63 motor for cheap not too far away.I've also had a few offers of 4G54's from some wreckers a bit dear though... Is there any reason not to go a 4G63 over a 4G54? Which motor is better?

Its a bit of a nightmare as I bought the ute hoping to get it on the road straight away with the engine from my other ute.. now I'm back to square one!

What model cars should I be on the look out for a suitable motor? Early Pajero's? L300 Express vans? Anything else I should consider?

There's an Hyundai Sonata GLE 16V 1993 for cheap locally. They use a 4G63 motor I think? I'm guessing it's fuel injected, would this be an issue? Was told it's twin cam....Can I just chuck on the carby etc from my own 4G63 motor? Or would I have to install the Sonatas computer etc?

The 32 is currently in an 2WD L200, so I was hoping it would be a straight swap. If the 63 is a wide block my only option would be to rebuild the 63 I guess? Not worth the hassle trying to get a 32 in there huh?

Alright I had a closer look and the block for the 4X4 is a 4G63, and the engine in the other L200 is a 4G32. Now while I rebuild the 4G63 am I able to drop in the 4G32 into my 4X4? Will it mate up fine with the current gearbox?
