Re: High Power Rear End/Diff What are you guys using?

I’ve seen someone use a HiLux LSD axle but older stuff like that is so damn rare here in the UK

I know the 4 bolt narrowbody starion is an option but still may not hold up to 400/400. Not looking to track it just don’t want to put my foot down and turn the back half of the car into shrapnel

High Power Rear End/Diff What are you guys using?

As title says, what are you 300+ power owners using to get that torque to the tarmac?

I have a Lancer EX Turbo rear axle for my GE project with EVO 5-8 engine, R154 box but I’m pretty sure the EX diff won’t last long even if I do get unrated shafts made.

Any input welcome and appreciated

No internet at work meant I've been unable to make much online time but a few weeks ago I got a little more mocking up done.... Using a cheap Japspeed manifold I'm making the basis for the top mount. Started with a standard Evo 4-9 manifold http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y73/DriveByImportClub/6574...

Re: 4g63t sohc into ge sigma

A donor Lancer EX would be perfect for you or a starion NB maybe. Should be reasonably straight forward wiring and the clutch master being the biggest obstacles. Must be a prop company not too far away you could use and I have it on good authority that the LSD rear end from the EX or Scorp swaps in ...

WoW the difference from the wash alone would keep me stoked for weeks. Swapping in a good motor sounds a lot less work for now and then with the old on out you can strip it and see just how badly pitted with rust the bore might be.
She's gonna have a great little car when you're done!

Great info from TJ, mucho kudos  It's become such a common conversion it would be worth having it's own FAQ forum section. ProjectZeroG just seems dead and hardly ever do you get a reply from people except Bill or DJ.
Everyone here has been far more helpful with information.

Re: 76 Colt Galant GTO GSR 2000

Agree with Dwlee losing the fusable links is a prudent measure. Large blade type holders are easy to come by and if you use a modified FL cover say off a Starion or early Pajero/Shogun it will give a factory look aswell as keeping them out of the elements.

These guys ( http://www.facebook.com/#!/SurfaceProcessing?fref=ts )seem busy at the moment. I'd say strip the shell completely, brace it and have it dipped or blasted. The concetrate on getting the shell perfect. After that the rest is all much easier and less expensive work where you can get little...

Re: 1977 Colt Sigma from the UK

You didn't waste any time there, well done Speedy. On a technical note I use Weld2 too but find it doesn't adhere very well so often any exposed metal, after using a flapper wheel on the angle grinder to tidy up any sharp areas of weld, I wire wheel it off then Acid8 prime it.
