Makes me so keen to do a full rebuild on the Colt but funds will put a stop to that unfortunately. I think ill just get a season of racing done and see what happens in the off season.

My 4g32 is a chain drive non pollution and the cam has a 1 on the end, now is that just the standard cam that it came out with or is it like a stage 1 performance cam?

Nah only at morwell mate it was my first drive at the track, my brother did a bit of a tune and stuffed with the timing and took it back out a week later and it was like driving a different car. I was just looking at hoonboys website and am i right to think that if im running the jap box wouldnt the 4 speed be better showing it has higher gears from 1st and 2nd and 3rd or am i looking at it the wrong way round? Thanks nath, Ive got a 5 speed in the shed i dont know the condition of it but maybe thats the go. Would it bolt straight up to the 4g32 without needing to change anything?

Im running a 4 speed in the colt and when i go from 2nd gear to 3rd it seems to bog down quite a bit just wanting to know if i ran a 5 spd would there be any difference ? Im trying to get a no.2 or 3 cam for my rebuild as im only running a no.1 but would the bigger cam make it bog down even more? Il...

Advice on a cam

Cam needs the bearing surfaces rebuilt but the lobes are all fine. It does have a small chip out of one of the lobes but this does not affect anything.

Does this cam sound like its rooted or is there still life in it?

I rang the guy who's a local to see if i could buy the engine and i was also going to see if it had any good bits for you guys on this website. Ive found myself a gd galant it was a tow pickup. The guy said if i wait 21 days i can go there and grab whatever i want of it. All im after is the motor and box, if you want let me know what your after and ill check it out for ya.

Gday shuggy, id be keen for a set of dome tops but ill have to wait and see what size bores ive got first, ive decided to pull the head of on thursday and see what i have there. Could you get me a price on those pistons though cause i could always use them in a rebuild with another motor.

Gday guys ill be racing it hillclimbs in Morwell and do some sprint rounds at Winton, Philip island and Sandown in the sports sedan upto 1600 class, its a 4g32 running a 45mm weber and has a stage 1 cam. Im looking for a stage 2 or 3 cam and am planning on a rebuild soon. I dont know whats been done...
