Re: nitrous oxide
yes i have ,but only a 50hp shot , in the higher gears it can give the clutch hell, but its been good , you can get kits made but mine is on an efi with a fogger nozzle you might be able to drill and tap a plate and go from there , efi kits start at $650 , but rule of thumb , find who is your neares...

dont mean to put a dampner on rumours but remember if you spoke to a mitsu engineer from lonsdale recently, who worked on the wherrett specials, he would be now about 80 years of age considering the dept average age was 40, now Id be chasing any info from the then Aust dept of Garrett, as they were ...

Re: turbo and carby questions
thats the whole idea with the hobs switch , it changes the fuel reg from vac to boost but at the point when it starts to lean out ,same as the sigma turbo. beige tops and blue top injectors are 275 at 45psi , xr6 are 300 at 45 psi early commodores are rated at 260 , modified xr6(42lb) are 450 at 45 ...

Re: turbo and carby questions
ok I will put in my two cents , this should help you out, find an apexi afc run 450cc injectors (modified falcon ones do the trick Tuff car parts do them for 200 a set) cut the groove with a hacksaw for the clip 1.9 to 1 malpassi fuel reg set fuel pressure at 35psi , use wide band to set apexi below...

honestly look at the quote say 600 in materials and the guy is charging close to 34 hours at 100 bucks an hour, no warranty with anything that blooms through or cracks because thats in the original sub surface, most shops will charge this or more per hour cause to them its a shit job, not a cream sm...

Big26L is there a chance i know you then ??, that 2.6 was first built with cast pistons , that broke the ring lands , the second rebuild was done with forged with stock head and carbs, the third was injected and revised pistons with thicker crowns ,big port and valve head , that was the bulletproof ...

23 years ago when i was an eager 4th year apprentice at coltspeed , Ron owned an ex group C LB lancer (converted to sports sedan when Grp C died), we ran forged flat tops , series1 head with series 2 valves (aftermarket flat back stainless) ported head , custom big cam and adjustable deg wheel, no b...

Re: Holley manifold
nice manifold , but wondering if you raise the top of the port a few mill in the head and added some in the bottom to give an angled down entry to the valve and keep the carb runners the same entry angle (and obviously port postion ) that would make an awesome methanol intake for speedway where sing...

^^^ not really hard , thats how the engineering shop do it , using a template , take your time mark it out check twice and make any corrections then drill , using a steady slow speed in a well mounted drill press vise( you do need an industrial drill press, for length and adjustment), i too have don...

all of those pics have impact damage , Rota spokes crack just from poor roads , ive broken 3 in the past by hitting ripple strips on a race track , the rims are forged style light , but cast made , very very brittle- Id honestly look at getting the car running properly before blowing your next cheque

Re: timing help on a fwd 4g54 please.
my first question is , did you remove the cam gear from the chain? 2/ did you take pressure off the rachet adjuster for timing chain ?,3/ the harmonic may have spun and requires replacing can you check against another one? in theory you can take the head off in any postion due to the chain and sproc...

dont forget lift , you can have a small duration cam with large lift , and that can have better effect than a low lift long duration cam , measure your lobe height then minus the base circle and work from there

Re: Cam timing turbo
ring camtech and ask them their thoughts , but by what you are saying std cam pin postion seems ideal, the specs you give its a very mild cam smaller than the 20/60 ,more optimised for boost (more lift less duration), and the larger the lobe separation the better they are down low,(108 and less are ...

accidents can happen at any time , once I was cracking a bearing collar on an axle of an L300 , safety goggles on , tight in the vice , no body standing behind me etc etc , cold chisel blade shattered and a piece about 6mm slither punctured an artery on my left wrist , it took about 1 min to have at...
