nice, looking bad-ass!
do you have any more pics?
I was thinking of putting 15x7 & 15x8s, 0 offset on my wagon. What tyre size are you running up front, do they scrub?

Re: Hi from the UK
Welcome to the site! I checked your link, the car looks to have a little tin worn but otherwise remarkably straight. There's another colt sigma on here from the UK in the same colour. Here in Oz they were produced from late 77 until mid 1980 in the local Chrysler plant and were called a 'GE' sigma, ...

IMO that black wagon would have looked better with the starion rims posted a bit further up.
Were those rims only available on the widebody models?

It seems they only sold 240 of those "japanese" chargers. Here's a google translate of the japanese wikipedia article of that car. It's pretty hard reading in parts but you get the gist.. http://translate.google.com.au/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&js=n&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8...

Cool, can't wait to see the finished product. Black was actually a factory colour, though i have never seen one. Did you consider doing a pressure-pack job in white ..definitely not as bad-ass as black, but inconsistencies would be less obvious. Now on to restoring the trim pieces but not sure which...

Re: Any difference in sigma to chrysler engines?
yo,
there are no chrylser engines in any of the sigmas. Swapping a 4g52 for a 4g54 is about the easiest swap you can do as they are both mitsubishi astron engines -just need to know about the whole wide block/narrow block thang. Make sure you do a search on that.

Re: CE lancer track car
My bro had a CC lancer coupe in the late 90s, 1.8L manual and it was a pretty zippy thing- weighing in under a ton, stock. That's pretty darn light for a 'modern-ish' car of that size. Consider that a Volkswagen Polo is 100kg heavier and the new Kia Cerato hatch weighs around 1360kg. Almost 400kg he...

Re: Cottees' 1977 Chrysler Lancer LB resto
thought I would weigh this up against current rego prices. My hardtop is out of rego at the moment and it is going to cost me $205.00 to put 3 months rego on it. $205 Thats a 260% increase in 16 years. INSANE Yep, or 6.1 % per year (compound) -which is twice the 'official' inflation rate. hooray. T...

That's amazing.WHTGESIG wrote:the engine bay of a sigma is wider than the engine bay of a ba Falcon by 100mm.
Is the front suspension setup in a sigma unusually compact or is it just that older cars had more space under the hood?

Re: BAD-SIG - my 1979 Sigma SE...
Maybe one option might be to pull out the 2L and keep it aside while you but a more lively 2.6in there?
That way at any time in the future, you can return the 2L engine in there and still have a sigma with sub 100,000km original motor. Meanwhile the original low km engine isn't being hacked up.

This is what is looks like with a bit of a polish up I know the wheels definitely have to go! But for the moment they will have to do haha So do you think you'll be keeping it red? The white-balance in your original photo looks to have been way out. Here's your car in its original paint (but deepened it a bit to simulate a polish). http://i985.photobucket.com/albums/ae340/duff-munt/Miscellaneous%20crud/GCvinylroofphotochop-red.jpg here it is in charcoal (2 diff shades of grey)...

Is that red a 'factory red'?
It looks pretty faded now but have you tried hitting a spot with some polish to see how it looks?
If you like what you see, it would be much easier and cheaper to redo in the same colour.
I think the white vinyl roof looks great against the red.
Those wheels, however..

I'm sure i've seen a brochure with them on a GE? It would have been late in the range -somehow i feel it may have been tied up with the larger 2.6L engine option?I think these rims really suit early sigmas, it also looks factory even though they didn't come out on GE's?
