Re: fuel light always on?
I think the feature first appeared in Sigmas in the GH model, I know mine has it. There's also a clear sticker on the original windscreen explaining what it is. Don't like it? Unplug the wires from that little vacuum switch in the engine bay. Then the fuel light will only indicate low fuel, not low ...

PICS! Cipher124's GH Sigma resto/build
Hey all,
Now that my 1980 GH is basically under restoration, I guess I should update with some pics of what's been going on.
At this stage, all I'm doing is bring it back up to a roadworthy state, so I can actually drive it again.
After that I'll be thinking about mods...

Re: tail lights
In my case, the coloured lenses have perished and have the typical 'old car' lens cracking, and the glue holding them to the backing/reflector is almost all gone from being out in the weather. The colour seems to be ok tho, no fading. My GH is off the road at the moment under "restoration"...

Re: Cipher124's GH Sigma SE
UPDATE: After about two years of sitting idle, the GH project is finally underway. I have put aside the first 2.6 Astron I purchased (in unknown condition), to make way for another - perfectly running - 2.6 out of a wreck of a GH that looked like it was in a back-yard smashup derby. Anyway, got myse...

Yeah I s'pose so, lol
I guess I've been lazy with mine so far, using those two adjustments to keep it running, rather than proper fault-finding hehe

Have you adjusted your idle mixture screw and idle speed screw?
They're the first things I would check if you haven't done that already.

Re: Carbie rebuild kit
Hey,
If that's the rebuild kit for an Astron 2.6 Solex Mikuni carby, I'm also having trouble finding these. (But for a manual)
Any help finding one would be appreciated.

Re: Audio system upgrade, GH Sigma SE
Nice setup there Nick, that was pretty much what I was after. I thought of using those angled spacers like on ebay (I've used them in my Civic) but I found there wasn't much room. Also given the flappy bit between the adjustable seat and the firewall itself, there's physically not enough room to fit...

Re: Crazy Speedo
I don't think it would have much to do with the engine/transmission or even the cable itself.
Gauges have dampers inside them that 'smooth out' the movement of the needle, and when it starts to bounce arond like crazy, it means that the dampers have become less effective.

Hey all, This is my 1980 GH Sigma SE. I promised to put some pics up when I joined SG.com but never got around to it. Well here they are! But first, a little about the car. Totally stock, runs like crap for the moment and needs to be repainted. A little rust around the windows. Pretty alr...

Hey guys and gals, I'm after some help/advice with upgrading the speakers and head unit in my GH Sigma SE. So far I've mounted my head unit but have not wired it up. I've done these on other cars before, so I shouldn't run into too many troubles there. (Hopefully  ) Replacing the factory fitte...

Re: 2.6 Astron to replace 2.0 Astron in my GH
Just having a look see... As far as I'm aware the bottom end is sound and the head is ok. The guy I bought it off wanted to drop it into his Pajero but it ended up being too much work for him. He told me all that was wrong with it was it blew the head gasket between 2-3 cylinders. s why I want to I ...

Re: 2.6 Astron to replace 2.0 Astron in my GH
Well I started to pull the 2.6 down this afternoon. Has a brand new Monotorque head gasket, never been started since its been put in, but had to take the head off to inspect the condition of the cylinders anyway. The head surface of the block could use a decent cleaning up tho. Next to to get the ti...

Yeah thanks mate, gonna get all new "replacables" for it while it's on the garage floor. Hmm, the balance shafts? Well, I just read the ENTIRE 'resurrected' thread on that one... Touchy issue it seems hehe. Think what I'll do is turn them down on the lathe, that way I won't have any of the...

Re: The rest of my cars
Ah, ok cool thanks guys. They guy I bought the wheels off was pretty convinced they needed their own wheel nuts, as the diameter of the holes is a bit larger than the studs on the car. I don't see why the nuts from the steelies won't work though, they also have the chamfered edge that the mags have ...

Hey 81GH, on your GH, what are those style of rims called? I just got 5 of them yesterday but need to know what they are called so I can get some wheel nuts.
