Hey all,

Now that my 1980 GH is basically under restoration, I guess I should update with some pics of what's been going on.
At this stage, all I'm doing is bring it back up to a roadworthy state, so I can actually drive it again.
After that I'll be thinking about mods...

Hey E39A4G63, was it you that I met at Jolly's on the weekend just gone? I was pulling bits off the brown GH Sigma

In my case, the coloured lenses have perished and have the typical 'old car' lens cracking, and the glue holding them to the backing/reflector is almost all gone from being out in the weather. The colour seems to be ok tho, no fading. My GH is off the road at the moment under "restoration"...

Well I sorted my idling problem out.

Turns out my No. 4 spark plug had worked itself loose lol
Purrs like a kitten now

Yeah I s'pose so, lol

I guess I've been lazy with mine so far, using those two adjustments to keep it running, rather than proper fault-finding hehe

Have you adjusted your idle mixture screw and idle speed screw?
They're the first things I would check if you haven't done that already.

Nice setup there Nick, that was pretty much what I was after. I thought of using those angled spacers like on ebay (I've used them in my Civic) but I found there wasn't much room. Also given the flappy bit between the adjustable seat and the firewall itself, there's physically not enough room to fit...

I don't think it would have much to do with the engine/transmission or even the cable itself.

Gauges have dampers inside them that 'smooth out' the movement of the needle, and when it starts to bounce arond like crazy, it means that the dampers have become less effective.
