Re: Obsession over a not-so rare car!

I have an obsession to MK2 Escorts  Since all my bits were stolen for my galant rally car project,I gave up on it and sold it. I later acquired a MK2 2 door roller that is straight and rust free. During negotiations, the guy informed me that there was another 2door and a really good 4door G...

Re: 75wagon's GD sedan project...

Question for the guys with racing experience. If I was to make this car a club race car (to race at Awaba rally club), and just wanted to keep the 4g32, what sort of mods are allowed and still be classed as standard? Obviously things like motor internals could be played with, but that's not the sor...

Chris If it is the repairer in Avoca that I am thinking of,they might not be very helpfull. Give the motor Vehicle repair Industry Authority a call on 0297122200 and have a chat with them. It annoys the crap out of me ,the way that some repairers get away with repairs that are potentially life threa...

Re: Steering box shorter ratios?

by shortening the knuckles, you are acheiving more movement for a given amount of movement at the steering wheel.
It all comes down to leverage. You will get more lock, but you will get that a lot quicker.

4G32 and 4G33 share the same internals.
I had a 33 that was bored to 1700cc in my rally car for years.

It's a 2L SOHC Carby RWD, came 3spd auto, I've put a KW132 5spd manual in it. It's got an SE badge on the side, but is it a GE? How do I finally figure it out?
It looks more like a GJ than a GE.

Sand it out and re fill it. If possible, don't put any bog over the paint, because it looks like it's been painted in acrylic. the reason behind this is that Acrylic moves around as the temperature changes and bog doesn't. after a few weeks, you will get an edge appearing around the repairIt's good to ...

Don't panic about rubbing through edges, Prime any rub throughs and if you are worried about rubbing through.go to your paint supplier and get some grey scotchbrite. wet the scotchbrite and put some cutting compound on it and rub the edges with it. I was under the assumption that the leyland engine had a wider Vee as well. Years ago,one of our clients had a rover that spat a main bearing cap and we thought of fitting a P76 engine, but it wasn't a straight forward swap.

They were a Buick V6 with an extra 2 cylinders added on. No resemblance or similarity to the Rover engine.

I have dealt with the Toy Store in the past and found the staff to be more than helpful and friendly. I think the treatment that customers receive has a lot to do with their attitude.
We needed a 2JZ for a trial fit into my mates race boat, and the guys gave us one that was high mileage for zilch.

What engine are you planning on using them on. I know jamie with his twincam 4g63 coupe up here has a 4age manifold and throttle bodies with just a basic 10 or 20mm adapter plate. The holes line up pretty well for that configuration to clear each manifold face. I dont have either manifold here to c...

Wax and Grease remover (Prepsol etc.) and a lot of patience. Scrape the excess off with an old credit card or similar. Under NO circumstances use a caramel wheel that coltA51 is refering to if the car is painted in acrylic lacquer or if the paint is really fresh, otherwise you will do more than scrat...

Phil, the key to a good performing 4G32 is the head, cam and induction. Years ago when Gosford Dyno built my engine, they skimmed the head .75mm,cleaned the ports by trimming the valve guides flush and smoothing out any humps and bumps. I ran a #5 cam and twin 45mm Webers and a set of works extractors....
