Re: 84 super saloon

Since it's still in the car I'll accept a case of beer (pure blonde) and some help getting it out of the car (although I won't have a chance to do it this weekend, but next weekend (Anzac long weekend) would be ok). Due to the condition of the front end I've only had a chance to drive it around the ...

Re: 84 super saloon

I did an auto to manual conversion on a GE a few years back and was planning on doing the same on the GK I have now until I bought another manual GK. To do the conversion you will need the following ingredients IIRC: - Gearbox - since you are converting from auto your engine will (more than likely) ...

Re: Bent front end question...

Thanks guys, you been a great help :) . I might see what some of the smash repairers in the area say and how much they'll charge (I'm sure I know someone who knows someone who knows a smash repairer). Meanwhile I'll keep an eye out on a new shell and see if something good comes up. I think this may ...

Re: Bent front end question...

As promised, here are some pictures that show the damage to the front end of my beastie. The guards and bonnet are not properly bolted down, but this was as far "aligned" as I could get them. I couldn't get any decent shots close up of the chassis damage. http://www.thepotterproject.net/im...

Re: Bent front end question...

The steering/suspension appears to be ok. When I got it the chassis rail was a lot more bent than it is now, the screw holes for the battery holder didn't line up, the bonnet catch was out of whack and the radiator shroud was obstructing the fan. Currently the bonnet will just close, but we (my frie...

Bent front end question...

Hi all, I bought a GK Super Saloon a couple of months ago with a bit of front end damage (including the chassis rail which was a bit bent before the tyre arch). A couple of friends and I did a bit of "realignment" and have discovered (the hard way) that the bonnet now doesn't line up (rega...

Re: batt flatery...3 times

If you have a mutimeter (or know someone who does) you can check the voltage at the battery terminals while the engine is running. If it's less than 13-14V there may (more than likely) be an issue with the alternator. If you dont have a multimeter you can get an el cheapo one from Dick Smiths (or si...

Re: Cottees' Sigma GN Build

Nice work, hope it works out in the end (H) . Another thing you may want to check the ECU for is dry joints. I couldn't see anything in the pics you supplied (you may need to have a closer look, maybe use a magnifying glass). I found an page with a picture of a dry joint on Google which is what you ...
