Re: Maverick

I have a gasket here that was too narrow for my wideblock, if you measure where the sump rails are closest together this gasket is 225mm across (centre of bolt hole to centre of bolt hole. I just assumed it was for a narrowblock but maybe its not? If you can use it just come and grab it from chermside

Re: L200 Vs L300

Can't say 100% but I have a MB L200 and a 1997 L300, just by looking at the 2 with the front wheels off it doesn't look like it would work, but possibly the earlier L300 before they were a unibody may be similar to the L200, but those front ends are hard to find. The rear ends look similar but I hav...

I'm sure I read somewhere on this forum 113kg for a 4g32, so if the Astron long motor was 148kg I guess that sounds about right?

All L200s have crossmember welded onto the rails so no good for a conversion unfortunately. Also they use a steering box not a rack.

The Operators manual in the glovebox list towing capacity with trailer brakes 1000kg, unbraked 600kg
The diff is not like any of the cars, the housing is bigger and the brake drums are huge. I was told Pajero centre would fit but have never done it.

Sorry stuffed it up previously and I can't edit post, you have 4G52 in there now (dunno why I thought 4G32) so extractors will be the same for 52 and 54 engines

Re: 81 L200 4g54 swap

I know you can move the gearbox Xmember on a Galant but you can't do that on an L200 there is only one place where it can be attached to the chassis rails so I assume that the L200 4speed either has a unique gearbox mount or there are different xmembers for both 4 and 5 Speeds. You might be best to ...

Is a TC05 12A Turbo too small?

I just picked up 4G54 that was in pieces with a TC05 12A turbo, google tells me this turbo is probably from a Starion but it looks tiny to me! I just want something fun to drive on the weekends, dunno if its realistic but maybe about 200hp at the wheels would be awesome. So I cc'd the head and I fou...

L200 is a completely different animal to a Scorpion, L200 is not a strut-type front end so nothing that fits a Scorp will fit a L200

4G63 DOHC Auto to Manual?

I'm looking at buying a 1990 Galant GSR with the intention of using the engine in my GD, only thing is that the GSR is an auto. I'm intending to use the jap 5 speed from the GD, did I read somewhere that the auto has a 7bolt crank and manual 6bolt? If so what can I do for a flywheel?

I think the comparison between the Valiant sedan pricing and the Galant is valid but I would like to offer my oponion as to why the E49 was priced where it was and why so few were sold. If you go back to 1971 series production racing had a class structure based solely on retail price of the vehicle,...
