Re: EF/XF weber Carby
Just to clarify the topic title, you're using an XE/XF Weber carby, EF Falcons never came with carbies, only EFI. Also, these Webers have a model number of 34ADM and have two intake ports of 34mm each for a total of 68mm. I would only recommend these if you're after more power (sacrificing fuel econ...

Re: Should i use hydraulic cam setup or go back to solid?
Strange, I was able to get the right adjustment but the inner bolt was half way inside the locknut's thread! Also, how did you seal up the back of the head with the roller rocker cam? I tried a stock TR Magna rear cam seal but it moves and leaks because there's no water pump pulley to keep it in pla...

Re: Should i use hydraulic cam setup or go back to solid?
I just tried to fit the adjustable tappets/rockers to my Astron II head and while it all bolts up and fits, there's way too much play on the rockers when the valves are closed! I used the early model cam, rockers, rocker arms with the later model front and rear rocker arm mounts...

Re: Quad 38mm Motorbike carb's on an Astron
Decided that I have had enough with the clutch slipping for over 18 months, and now, not being able to put it into gear when changing up, unless the RPM matched the gear I was selecting, I decided to remove the gearbox and have a look at what would be needed. I knew the engine had been leaking a fa...

Hi mate, I fitted TR Magna roller rockers to my engine too but can't seem to seal up the rear of the cam properly, it keeps spitting out oil even with the stock Magna rear cam seal! How did you overcome this?

Re: Tippy tappy Asstron
How did you go Jason? I just fitted roller rockers to my Astron II and the tappets are really noisy, even after running it for a good 20 minutes and fully priming all components during assembly. I'll remove the cam and valvetrain tomorrow and check it all again... so annoying!

Re: Lifters go tap tap tap.
I just changed my Astron II 2.6 (originally from an 87 GN Sigma) from stock hydraulic cam and tappets to roller rockers and Waggot cam. The engine is brand new and was smooth quiet, but now with the sporty cam and roller rockers from a TR Magna with 297,000 kms (all cleaned up and inspected though),...

Green struts have a removable caliper mounting bracket that is held by four bolts. Non-green struts have the caliper mount as part of the strut.

Those are GH Sigma struts I reckon, the non-green kind. What car is that? Lower control arms look really weird to me.

Re: Better radiator for 4G52????
Or you can just do what I did and fit a bigger radiator out of a later model Sigma (they are a bit taller but fit with no modifications, you just need a different bottom hose). If that's still not enough for your application, then take the later model radiator to a radiator shop and get it re-cored ...

Re: 4G52 electronic ignition kit??????
99.9% of all Sigmas came with electronic ignition from factory, very few came with points. But if you have an early model Sigma with a 4G52 engine, you can upgrade it to the later model Sigma's high spark electronic ignition. You will need to cut a few wires as the early model had the iginition modu...

Hydraulic type mild cam options for Astron II 2.6...
Hi guys not sure if anyone is interested but here we go: I just swapped the engine in my Sigma from an Astron I with adjustable tappets to an Astron II with hydraulic lifters. Because I will be using this car for street cruising, I rather keep the hydraulic tappets. So I'm looking for someone out th...

Re: Cam Dilemma!
So are you after a performance cam for a solid lifter and adjustable tappets setup? If so, I have a Crow Cams mild cam to suit solid lifters that I can't use because my new engine uses hydraulic type. Would you like to swap? What kind of grind did you get done on the hydraulic cam?

Yeah same problem I had. I agree that Sigma III calipers are better/stronger, but in the end I went with the GH Sigma II struts and calipers because it was easier for me.

Re: Need help With Brake and suspension GH/GJ Sigma
Sorry if I confused you mate, I meant to say that unfortunately the only struts that I found that the Sigma III calipers will bolt onto is the stock struts that they came with. I spent an afternoon at the wreckers trying them all on. My GE Sigma green struts with the small Galant brakes would bolt u...

Re: Need help With Brake and suspension GH/GJ Sigma
Hey Glant, I recently had the same problem. My original struts and brakes on my early model GE Sigma were very similar to the Galant ones on "green struts". So I thought since I had a GN Sigma i was wrecking sitting in my driveway, I would simply fit the discs, bearings and Sigma III calip...

Re: VIC October 2013 meet and/or cruise!
I've always wondered how accepting the Chrysler guys would be of our rebadged Mitsubishis. Shouldn't be a problem really since our cars were indeed sold through the Chrysler dealers and most were even assembled along side other more american Chrysler products. And yes the Astron engines are real Hem...

Just in case anyone else comes across this, the very first GE Sigmas had the Torqueflite MA904A. The main differences are: BW35: stall = 2500-2600rpm 1st = 2.39 2nd = 1.45 3rd = 1.00 Torqueflite MA904A: stall = 2200-2650rpm 1st = 2.45 2nd = 1.45 3rd = 1.00 These were taken from the factory Chrysler ...

Re: Factory Turbo setup on a AUTO?
Best way would be to fit a diff with 3.3 gears (Scorpion) or 3.08 (GH Sigma I think) and phat 65 profile tyres on the rear on 15 inch wheels, but make sure you get your speedo recalibrated!

Re: carbies
the last model Magna to run carbs is essentially a bigger version of the sigma mikuni...they run bigger venturies and jets from factory...so they bolt on the same way as factory Do these have the integrated EGR 'bullet' that goes into the manifold? It's actuated off a linkage on the carby and opens...
