Re: L200 4x4 4g63 WHERE CAN I GET AN AFTERMARKET CAM!!!!!!!!!!!!
All 4x4 L200's used a 4.9:1 diff, and Mitsubishi still seems to stick 4.9:1 diffs into all of there 4x4s I myself own an 81 MA L200 2wd. My L200 has a 3.9:1 which came out of a sports model L200, they are identifiable by the tub. Sports models had a internal tie down rail inside the tub. Apparently ...

Head Gaskets
I need a head gasket that will not fail. Has anyone any suggestions. I started with a Montorque, that fail after 5000K That was replaced with a OEM TP head gasket. That has failed after 20,000K. The head and block were both square and OK when I replaced it with the OEM head gasket. I am writing it o...

Re: few Qs magna into l200
is it possible to leave them where they are? what effect will it have? (not really a big deal as having them changed isnt such a big deal i guess.) I forgot that bit, What I did was use a Galant Thermostat housing instead of the Magna thermostat housing. The Galant housing is at a right angle as op...

Re: few Qs magna into l200
Hello there fellow L200 owner, As the resident L200 guru, I always find it my responsibility to answer the L200 questions. You seem to be , (in my personal opinion) going down the wrong track. All L200s use narrow block which are hard to find. You are better off to replace the engine and gearbox wit...

Re: A few little post EFI issues - Yes, I searched LOL
Nice job on the EFI conversion, it looks rather tidy. If the Crank Angle sensor is faulty, the engine will still run providing that the other photo gates in the dizzy are still working. When I first put EFI onto my L200 ute, it would intermittently report Crank Angle Sensor errors. You could tell wh...

Re: NEW AND HAVE ASTRON
BTW Kingofsideways ..... Sideways in a 2.6L L200s is common practice. Just go easy on the circle work. Spine pins break easily and diff centres with low ratios are getting hard to find. Quick note: If your tub has external tie down hook on it around the outside of the rim, you will most likely have ...

Re: NEW AND HAVE ASTRON
Do either of you know if the mag rims of the GLS NJ pajero will fit on my L200 both 6 stud and both mitsubishi so they should??? I'm still looking for some alloys for my L200... Stud pattern is the typical 4x4 6 stud style, the problem is that Mitsubishi keep changing the offset. I have it on good ...

Re: head gasket
What breed is the head gasket? If it is ACL / Monotorque, there is your problem. I never have had a problem with monotorque until recently. A friend and I both rebuilt brand new high compression 4G54s just over a year ago. Both of them had the compression ratio bumped up to about 10:1 His was a narr...

Re: Steering Box
Is there any reason why you don't wish to keep the power steering box in the GK? I have a GK power steering box in my L200 ute. No long after I fitted it, it leaked like a sieve. If it is only leaking, it's not that hard to replace the seals and o rings. Strip it down and wash it, then take it to yo...

...... namely the hydraulic lifters became noisy after couple days running,BAD rattle noise which i suspect was oil pressure Bad luck on the cracked block. Fortunately I have never suffered a problem like yours. I rebuilt a new engine for my L200 ute using a GK sigma block. The guys at the local en...

Re: cheap mods for my 4g54 triton
I think I'll set up to the plate on this one. I own a L200 that I have done a lot of work on, (ground up rebuild) L200's and Tritons share the same drive train and chassis, Mitsubishi did not like re-tooling their factory line! Diff ratios play a lot into the subject. Generally you will find that tr...

Re: what size jets for my weber on my 2.6
no good.... my carby already has a 135 primary and 145 secondary and runs way too rich. Way too Lean! You will kill something! I unscrewed the secondary idle jet tubz There is no secondary idle jet on a 34ADM. The whole point of a manual secondary carby is that the secondary throat is only valid af...

Re: what size jets for my weber on my 2.6
http://www.l200ute.com/jamie/9weber/index.htm After about a year of playing around with the Weber Carby, I have finally found the ALMOST perfect jetting for it. Providing you get your hands on a Weber from a XE 4L Falcon, it should have a 140 Primary Jet and a 210 Secondary Jet. Replace the 210 Sec...

Re: Lower compression/Tr magna ECU combination
My first EFI setup was an Astron 2.6 block from a GH with .020 O/S decomp pistons. Cylinder Head was from TP Magna and the injection system was a complete TP setup. It all worked fine, starting was a hell of a lot easier than carburetor, there was an also an improvement in torque, This engine was bo...

Re: Pros/Cons removing balance shafts
Removing the balance shafts, as long as you don't mind the engine rocking around a little more, is definitely rewarding. The engine becomes a lot more responsive, while I have heard people suggest that you gain 10HP, I doubt that you really gain much horse power, but rather an increase in torque. My...

If you really want a different suggestion other than Clutch Thrust Bearing, I can suggest worse.
How about Crankshaft end play?
No you probably didn't want to hear me suggest that.

Re: 34 adm car install questions
.....looking to do it all monday after work :) Maybe a little ambitious. There is a fair bit to do in manufacturing brackets, die grinding, etc. I would recommend purchasing an additional inlet manifold and air cleaner from the wrecker before you start. While you are at it, a can of carby clean and...

Re: 34 adm car install questions
34ADM modification is a very rewarding modification. You should look for a leaded carby from an XD or XE. XF Falcons are unleaded and are easily identifiable by the peculation tube rising up out of an above the carby. Been there and done that. 34ADM seems to be the mod you do before you do fuel inje...
