Galant Lowered Shocks - cut and shut MR2 rear inserts
Hello Comrades, Some pics from my conversion of Galant Struts, to a shorter shock height (more travel) and shorter strut (hold lowered springs captive). The strut inserts are approx 40mm shorter in body. Refer pics with measurements next to stock Galant insert. You will need a grinder, welder, step ...

GC Firewall Heater Bulkhead/Heater Tap
Hello Comrades, Im looking for a solution for a bulkhead fitting to replace the standard rubber setup on a GC galant. Custom setup is fine, can weld bits back in etc. Any ideas on bulkhead fittings, I've looked at summit and seems -10AN is popular. Further, can you buy new heater cores? If so Where?...

Re: brake upgrade
GH sigma brakes bolt in if you swap the entire strut. I did it on my car about 10 years ago. 256mm rotors and pads are cheap as they are the same as early commodores.

Re: Identifying Astron Heads
This info is a bit old in my brain, but I think you shourld keep the rocker arm caps from the head, then use all the astron 1 cam with the solid adjustable lifters and drop that into the astron 2 head. Hydraulic cams and solid cams must be used with their respective lifter. If you a big girl and you...

Bit of a thread bump here, but whats the towing/carrying capacity of one of these utes?
What rear end has it got? Same as a scorpion or does it have a BW diff like early sigmas?

Re: BW 35 GK Sigma - What fluid
Thanks Steve, Goin alright, still in Mildura, actually lookin at getting a 4wd and getting out along the river a bit more often. Got this old dunger sigma (car I bought for my mum years ago) as I got her a 98 triton to replace it and drove it down from Mildura then came back in this sigma. The auto ...

BW 35 GK Sigma - What fluid
What fluid should go into a '84 GK Sigma borg warner auto?
Dextron?
Also is there any adjustments that can be made while the pan is off? Its a bit clunky under heavy shifts and generally a bit crap (lots of ks), the fluid also looks a bit brown/red and gross.

Re: Starion Crossmember on GC/GD
You could probably cut and shut it to make it fit. But it is too wide and would be better to start off with something with a rack. Starion front end is really not that much better than what you already have with the galant.

Thinking similar for my Galant. Plus I got 180sx parked infront of it to measure from. Either way i want to get a rack in their it steers like shit.

M9 head has the funny combustion chambers that look like ping city. They are designed for emissions, not power. M6/M7 are the best for performance.

Re: Shifta's day at the drags ( long story )
Uusual your getting tramp in a sigma. Check your engine mounts and gearbox mounts as well...good chance they will be cracked and letting the motor torque over alot which will make tramp worse or create it depending on how bad the mounts are.

Depends on width...anything more than 6" will likely rub the strut.
You want more like +30 or +25 for a stockish fit.

I have a panhard rod in the back of my galant, its from a R31 sklyine. I welded a bolt onto the drivers side leaf plate for one mount, the other I made a mount out of RHS to go on the chassis rail on passenger side. Improvement in handling is rediculous, can get on the power HEAPS earlier out of a c...

Either is going to go well.
I know SR20's are a little tricky to get in due to the block(or maybe front of gearbox) hitting the drag link.

Re: PROJECT V6 SIGMA (UPDATE>>)
When you put a diff in, you might be able to squeeze a early commodore diff in without shortening it(im sure they are the narrower ones, vl maybe)... the sigma rear ends are wider than you think, just depends on what tyres an rims you want to fit.

I have camira struts in shortened GH green legs with custom coilover sleeves. Cheater made them for me. Can you post these sigma front crossmember in galant pics Glen. I care not for IP rules anymore. Coupe will likely be heavier(20kgs maybe) and offer less chassis rigidity though. Re: hill climb galant
My car was initially for hillclimbs. Start with a sigma if your serious it will be much cheaper and easier to setup because its wider, has 4 link rear end, better front end, better brakes and already has astron engine. Basically with a galant you will likely be filling it with sigma and custom parts...

Re: New project brings lots of questions, help please
Why no just go for a EFI 2.6....
Wont be 'fast' but it will stay infront of your average v6 commodore....
Going all crazy with turbo stuff often just highlights other problems with the car.
