Re: new to this site, old school car enthused, ready to drive!
yeh i'll keep the hub caps as well, but i want wider wheels, there's absolutely no lateral grip :( cheese cutters aren't good enough. yeh the Koenig's are pretty similar, my wheels also come in 14" 15" and 16" but the offset and backspacing is all wrong, and anyway old cars look gun w...

Re: cold-air intake & 4g32 carby options
ok thanks guys, i'll see if i can find some good condition down-draughts a bit bigger then the current carby, and go from there. 75wagon , no the 40DCOE didn't have manifolds, which i understand will make the idea cost a great deal more. yeah the next things i'm getting for my car is new wheels and ...

Re: cold-air intake & 4g32 carby options
i just found 2 40DCOE Webers for $200 for the pair. that's not overly expensive.
what do you mean the 40s will get choked down? would a smaller size be more effective?

Re: new to this site, old school car enthused, ready to drive!
ok, when i find a day i'll give the engine a thorough once over, or twice over  ive had all the timing and all that looked at, from looking at the service manual book and advice on here i'm pretty sure it's the needle and seat, and the valve seals in the engine head aren't sealing right, giving...

Re: new to this site, old school car enthused, ready to drive!
yeah, should i get the current carby reconditioned or buy a $50-$300 new/rebuilt one(or 2 for twins).
seen as my carby is stuffing up a bit.
i get like 10L/100km when i drive efficiently and there are flat spots all over the revs.

Re: cold-air intake & 4g32 carby options
yeah im not going for professional drift stuff, just fast drifting like what Keiichi Tsuchiya does, not really any smoke at all just hanging the tail out around the corners. i'll wait 'til i get a RX7 or something before i do massive angle smokey drift :D it already gets sideways but i just want som...

Re: new to this site, old school car enthused, ready to drive!
actually i put the bottom little parkers in because the main headlights aren't the original sealed beams, they're now halogen ones and yes they have a spot for parker lights to be plugged into but there's not enough room in the headlight housing area, the new lights use a weird plug thing that stick...

cold-air intake & 4g32 carby options
it seems to me by all the photos i've seen on here that nobody uses cold-air intake, they just have the air filters anywhere in the engine bay with no majorly direct air flow. i just don't get it, i thought cold-air intake is gives slight increase in power and efficiency, and allows more compression...

Re: new to this site, old school car enthused, ready to drive!
yeah, i'm so confused and have been tossing up engine swap/new car/mod current/just go to sleep, for a long time...pretty much since i got the car and my Ps. i think for now (with the lack of money i have) i'll just see what i can do with differential building or swapping and add small mods to the S...

what letmefknin, it's go hard or go home, if i'm going to go through the stress of an engine swap why not go all out, and those engines are actually cheaper then any other.

all that work and only a bit more than stock :o  dear god the Saturn is useless for any extra power then what do you mean remapped curve, isn't mapping for fuel injection? and sorry to be a noob but what is 'twin SU copies' ? well i guess the only option is swap or die for the galant...i gues...

Re: new to this site, old school car enthused, ready to drive!
what if i just recondition worn and necessary parts and just bolt on a second-hand supercharger? i just really don't want to swap engines, it's way to much hassle especially to get engineered and road legal (coz the RTA sucks big hairy balls :x ) and if i had no option other then death to the galant...

Re: new to this site, old school car enthused, ready to drive!
you can charge anything, it would just have to run low boost because it's an old and wornish engine, but if the internals are forged it should be alright for a little more boost... i'm only hoping for like 100kw at the wheels, and 220kw max, i don't want or need anything over that. it's for drifting...

new to this site, old school car enthused, ready to drive!
I didn't thing there would be a site dedicated to Sigmas and the mighty Galant. :o I've got a 1976 Chrysler Galant Sedan 1.6L Saturn that was previously owned by an old granny, YES! it's got minor engine and gearbox leaks, but it goes heaps good. I'm really into drifting and have...believe it ...
