Hey everyone,
Just pulled the fuel tank out of my la 4 door to find it extremely rusty, im wondering if anyone knows if a lb hatch fuel tank is the same/similar?
If not ill be looking for a la tank in good condition or get a new one made. Thanks

Re: (NSW WESTERN SYD) Rust repair
If you really want to learn how to do it properly i would find a Tafe that is still doing night classes. When i was at North Sydney Tafe doing my panel beating apprenticeship they were running restoration classes at night, it was cheap and you could even bring in your own car and work on it with all...

Re: need tips.
The best advise i can give is to take your time with every part of the job! If you spent extra time making your patch it will be easier to weld and if its easier to weld it is easier to grind your welds (take it slow so you dont heat and warp the panel and dont grind to much off or you will make the...

Re: Respraying a Sigma
pistorf do you think your love of acrylic is biased to your obvious experience and long time use of it? what brand of 2 pac do you use? another option is water based paint. not sure on legal requirements to spray but it is supposed to be better for the environment and as good as 2 pac. its used all ...

Re: Respraying a Sigma
a good painter will get as good a job if not better with 2 pac as anyone can with acrylic and it will last alot longer and be easier to maintain.

Re: bumpers
from what i can la and lb front end is the same so you should not need to change any panels just swap the bars and indicators.
still looking for a reasonable la rear bar so i can try it on, if anyone has one they are selling please let me know.

on the lb the indicators are in the front bar but on the la they are below it. as far as i know you just have to get the lights i will have a look at mine and let you know if thats all you need.

Re: la lancer brake upgrades?
i have already talked to an engineer and he want the rotors about 280mm.
do the sigma rear discs bolt up to the lancer diff or do you need to do some mods to the diff or brakes?
and how big are they?
thanks for such a fast reply dan

Re: Project 71
if you cannot spray the back of the panel after it is welded you can buy zinc rich primer that will not burn if you dont heat it up to much. try a local paint or welding shop if not make the patches and take them to a panel shop.
