Re: Looking for some jetting suggestions on twin 45s in a g5
I have a pair of 55mm DCOE's on my 54...... Spec's off the top of my head are..... Chokes 42mm (to small, I need 44's or 46's and 48's are to big) Primary jets; 55's Main jets; 165's Air correctors; 205's Fuel pressure; 4psi My thing has a massive bottom end and runs out of puff at about 5700rpm. It...

Power steering is easy these days........ Astra or Vectra (same as porsche GT3 only cheaper)or Mazda 3 remote electric pump & reservoir with lines. These are other options like using a Suzuki steering column that has the electric motor connected to it. Stewart Wilkins does a kit that bolts the c...

Nice work mate!
Its been around for a long time. It was at Summernats earlier this year and a couple of times about 8-10 years ago.
Its a pretty basic set up but have seen it in flesh a number of times. Its a really good starting point for a weapon.
Enjoy!

5600rpm is about where the factory camshaft runs out of puff in a boosted application. You'll need a bigger camshaft to make power above that.

I put new carpet in one of the mine a couple of years back. There are a couple of places in Sydney that do new carpets for them. I can't remember the company's name but they were in Lansvale in South west Sydney. Fitted really well and looked nice once done.

LA's are weak in the front rails. We normally plate the front rails and seam weld the strut towers up to stiffen the front end up. We also run an angle bar down the edge of the floor where it meets the sills on the inside the car from the back of the front wheel arch all the way the front of the rea...

Sounds like a lot of work re-inventing the wheel for not a lot of gain....... Sigma/scorp/staz struts, late model Sigma control arms and steering arm adjusters, adjustable strut tops, some bumpsteer correctors and coilovers and you should be able to get more than -4' of neg camber & +4' pos cast...

I believe the EVO 7/8/9 inlet manifolds are a straight bolt on arrangement with the EVO 1/2/3 head. As they turned the motor & gearbox around in the late model Evo's the throttle body points in the correct direction in a RWD application without the mucking around of cutting up the old style mani...

There are a few in Australia..... I have seen both a red and white one in metro Sydney in the mid 90's. No idea where they are now????
I believe the Philippines, Sri lanka, Malaysia, etc..... are your best bet for parts. I think thats where most of them ended up.

Most race pad suppliers will cut down a set of pads to suit your application in the compound you want.

I used the mazda set for availability of bits. I can still buy crown wheel & pinions new from Mazda or Racing Beat. LSD's are pretty common and available new for either a MX5 & S2000, as they basically use the same set up as early mazda's. I went through the Mitsubishi diff stuff 20 years ag...

The B2600 box & RX7 box are the same internally except for the gear ratio's. Once you have the B2600 box you won't need an RX7 box unless you want the RX7 ratio's.

Thats why I haven't bothered regoing mine. 3 years of car rego pays for the trailer and if you get booked, fined, etc...... the trailer pays itself off even faster. Much easier to sort out if you break the car at the track as well. Read that link properly..... The B2600 shifter sits a lot further fo...

Are you going to increase the rear track width? Might be something to think about...... and then use a complete disc brake rear end out of whatever is of suitable width.
My set is basically the same as used in most IPRA cars, so I won't need to upgrade unless I install another 250+ rwhp.

The other option is to use a borgwarner 5speed bell housing and adapt a T5 out of a commodore or falcon.
Your going to have to modify the shifter hole slightly to fit most gearboxes regardless.
