Re: La lancer with magna Bosch style alternator

I have charged battery to full capacity on my c-tek charger, and it reads 12.8v, after I start car and run it with thermo fans off it sits on about 11.8v and slowly drops. If I put thermo fans on it drops quicker, I have pulled reg out and measured ohms across slip rings on armature and I have 130.k...

Re: La lancer with magna Bosch style alternator

Is there a way if testing the reg to see if it is faulty? Are they overly sensitive? When removing engine and installing it the alternator may have been bumped but nothing major, the usual taps against radiator support panel that happens as an engine is craned from and into a vehicle, I also swapped...

Re: Alternator wiring in la lancer

The blue wire was wired straight to power when it was in the magna so I have put it straight back onto power in the lancer, the white wire has been run to the yellow wire in the lancer's reg plug, this is the only wire in the loom that triggers the light, when this where is disconnected there is no ...

Re: Magna Astron2 head with efi onto 4g52

I have removed the head off my 4g52, the head has a lot of corrosion, I noticed there is small valve looking things that fit in beside the spark plugs I haven't seen this before, also there is a water gallery that runs along the head on the exhaust side, this also is new to me, is this a common head...

Re: Magna Astron2 head with efi onto 4g52

Ok thanks, well I won't know what I will do exactly until I pull the head off, the only other solution might be to obtain a complete magna engine and convert it to rear wheel drive using the timing cover, water pump and sump setup.
